*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Might be better off doing public events....use a timer like destinypublicevents.com , go to Patrol Cosmodrome....profit. Assuming you are after Vanguard marks to buy gear with.

Yup, potentially the quickest way to grab some marks (4 per gold completion). Plus you get the chance for ascendant materials to drop every clear. Don't bother with the public events on Venus or Mars if you are just grinding as they are a lot tougher. The Vex sacrifice ones are particularly challenging solo due to the enemy pathing and sudden difficulty ramp (things quickly become chaotic when you have 2-3 Axix Minotaurs and Hydras running amok).

the strike playlists match players of similar levels, so if you are 22, you'll be matched with those sort of levels.

Yup this is just the matchmaking doing its thing. I often drop my level to 26-28 when running ROC's outside of a full fireteam (for the matchmaking only). I have found it makes it more enjoyable.

Fallen god - If you are on tonight drop me a message and I will happily take you through the level 24 weekly heroic. You are underlevelled but it should be fine as the strike is straight forward and has void burn (just be careful of the Minotaurs).

Do people only play this game for the Crucible? or is it do-able just for the pvp? gear wise and upgrades and such.

Been away from it for a while now but cant bring myself to play the PvE side of things

Level 20 Warlock (PvP)
Level 27 Titan (PvE)

You'll need to do the Crota's End raid in order to get max light armour to more easily get to level 32, or you can wait for Iron Banner to roll around and pick up bits and pieces but you're at the mercy of when Bungie decides to get put it on again and what rewards they put with Saladin. Last time it came on you could get 36 light gauntlets for example, so it would take quite sometime to get level 32 through that.

Have people seen the reports of House of Wolves not being released until 19th May? That's going to be a bit of a killer if so because I don't think there's nearly enough to do to keep me going until then. As it was, March was a bit of stretch but I still have a Warlock to create, so I was planning on working on that for a few weeks.

From that post on reddit in Japanese? not sure what to think of it to be honest. Don't think Bungie ever announced a release date of March did they? I think it will probably be around that time anyway!

Edit, DeeJ replied in the origianl post about it - http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG..._dlc_release_date_in_may_19/coa9q9v?context=3

They've never announced a release date, but I think people were expecting it on 10th March, going by previous leaks.

There will obviously be changes but I think, with most of these sort of leaks, they actually turn out to be fairly accurate with a few tweaks here and there.

I dont see why not. The level you have doesn't matter as long as you don't play Iron Banner. Only reason why it would be better to have a higher level is to be able to have access to more weapons. And you can level up through Crucible and hope the RNG will give you something for your trouble! I think i got from 20 to 24 by doing Crucibles because the Strikes wouldnt give me anything.

Well, you can only get to level 31 doing purely PvP. You have to complete raids to get to the top level. The PvP is good, but not enough to keep me interested for long.

In general i find pvp a nice break out of the Destiny PVE but for example i got titanfall, i played a bit and that's it never touched it again it is gathering dust on the PC. Same with all the COD games i got which i play mostly for the Campaign. I dont understand how people buy COD only for multi player don't they get bored from a point on? At leasy at DOTA i get to think of strategies with hero abilities and items i will need to use in order to beat an opposing hero. Oh well probably i am getting too old for fps multiplayer pvp. If there was a coop campaign though, or even better a Couch Coop i would jump in a second! I almost bought a second ps4 for destiny. Trying to avoid that and struggling...

With CoD it was loads of fun when I played with friends, I have never played the campaign before. I would just buy the game, pop it in and go right to online play. Only the online play would get boring quickly, but its a lot of fun when I had a mate or 2/3/4 and we would just wreck teams together and have a lot of laughs, typically it was 4 off us.

Also quick question, I'm guessing it best to get the Expansion Pass so you get both DLCs?

Is there anywhere cheaper then £35, feels a tad expensive for some DLCs too me.

I understand and i enjoy DOTA a lot with friends especially in a LAN but if i try to play alone omg i get frustrated easily. At least in a party if one of us is being a noob then we get a nice laugh out of it if a random noob guy does something silly and ruins a whole 1 hour game then it is frustrating..

As for your question
Cheapest i have seen this and done myself unfortunately is through a site like cdkeys.com with the 5% off fb code. Buy a PSN topup card (35pounds) which is on offer for 32.49 which goes down to 30.87 something if you like their fb page and get the code. And yes if you intend to play both then definitely get the expansion pass that has both in it. If anyone knows of a cheapest way feel free to let us know

Destiny is similar to many games for me, solo PvP is nice for a break from SP/PvE but becomes a chore quite quickly. With a group of people you get on with then it is a laugh and I can happily play PvP for hours then. I would say most of play time on Destiny has been PvE though, through playing solo and more often then not groups are formed for raiding whereas on games like CoD groups are formed solely for PvP.

Yeah, its fun with friends, boring alone. Destiny I'm finding ok so far since its a new style of FPS, and I've not done much FPS on console.

And thanks for the advice, I ended up doing that.

If anyone's up for PvP I'd be interested - nearly finished my raid collection so rather play more PvP as I do enjoy it but only if there's a few of us. Gets one sided though most of the time :p

Need to play the 3v3 modes more

ps3ud0

Any XB1 people need to do nightfall still? I have 2 characters to run through it and the weekly heroics. Will be on in about half hour. :)

GT: Dangerous mavu

If the release date for HoW is really in May i cant see me sticking around like i have been now. Crota is to buggy for me to enjoy it and if the IGN report is true and the NF becomes lvl 32 then thats going to hurt a lot of people which could be an early death for destiny

Yeah may seems a long time to keep doing the same stuff over and over only to be greeted with more DLC that reuses most of the levels and enemies in pve. I think I need to wean myself off this game again. I'm addicted and yet bored by it with little desire to play any other games...

I hope Comet is real and offers a substantial amount of actual new content. #addict.
