Last time I tried no.
It is possible and something that would be immense for AMD with the way things are eating into VRAM.

Why does every thread in the GPU section turn into arguments
Its a shame as some interesting topics and discussions get derailed by arguing and vendor wars.![]()
I know it's possible, they've been touting it for over a year![]()

Old story
Possible in Theory
Not going to happen.
Perhaps someone can post some CF Mantle scores for the bench if they can get it working.![]()
Is it really necessary for you to be like that ^^^^ constantly, can't you just give it a rest of 5 minutes? your the one who run's around this forum constantly accusing people of being Nvidia haters when they are no such thing. Look at the way you behave on this forum.

Hmm, you moan at Greg for posting things you disagree with (normally when he's critical of AMD) now you're moaning at him because he's said something good about AMD.
I'm starting to think you've got more of a problem with Greg than Nvidia, though i could be wrong.

Yep.
Some of the people are are so entrenched with their ideas and are, I think, so adamant on being on a 'team' or 'side' that they just like slinging muck at each other. Don't expect an end to hostilities any time soon. I've not been on these forums that long but it's a recurring theme (within this particular sub-forum).
Of course, some others are simply trolls in it for the lolz or what have you.
On a positive note, there are some posters with good knowledge of both AMD and Nvidia GPUs that don't join in with the tribal nature and can give valuable input. So, persevere and knowledge and guidance can be yours!
(I am not including myself in the above, I come here out of simple interest in GPU progress).

The problem with split frame rendering - it works very well for say a top down game but in a lot of games you end up with 1 or more GPUs spending a lot of time doing not much more than rendering the skybox (completely wasting their performance) and other GPUs bogged down trying to render the more complex parts of the scene. You can up the "intelligence" of the way the scene is split up but that leads to more issues (beyond the scope of a single post).
There is a reason why AFR type techniques are prevalently used with most games.
You are absolutely right, there are many extremely knowledgeable and helpful folks on the forum, and its fine to be very passionate about a certain vendor if brand loyalty floats your boat, but it does often turn in to a tribal mentality with 'red vs green' spewing venom at each other, it just makes me sad as it spoils the environment of the forum when at the end of the day we all like PC's and gaming and technology etc so really we should all be on the same page regardless of what colour our GPU's are!![]()

Tri and Quad Crossfire in CIV does not work as the developer decided not to add it. Crossfire works fine though.![]()

Ah, I had no idea that this great technology is already implemented in the released game CIV5!
Wonder how many more games will use this! Exciting times.
Imagine the new 380/390x has 6 or 8gb VRAM - crossfire them up for 12 or 16GB! Should enable 4k to have enough memory![]()
