Dropped my phone in the loo!

I have turned it off straight away, removed the SIM car and SD card and put it some rice?

Everything will be fine, yes? :o

I have read on the net that unofficially they are quite water-resistant... but not quite enough to be called waterproof.
Wouldn't fancy testing it though

Keep it warm (airing cupboard) with rice/silica gel packs for a good 48 hours, good luck!

The HTC One (M8) IPx3 rating means it's protected from water spray up to 60 degrees at 10l per minute, pressure of 80-100kN/m2 up to 5 mins.

Make of that what you will, but I'd be sure to keep is toasty warm for a long time to evaporate any water that got in.

Had a 2nd gen iPod touch that spent a full cycle in the washing machine! Spent a week in a rice bag. It survived! And sold it shortly on ebay lol.

It is the SIM card, I have just swapped it over and a new SIM is detected.

I'd still dry it out some more in a warm place, there may be some moisture in the sim slot which could oxidise the contacts over time... Might sound paranoid but it's an expensive phone, worth being thurough when drying...

I would leave it to dry longer too. My sister dropped her S2 in the toilet and turned it on straight after where it appeared to work normally... until a few hours later where it started to overheat and started making a burning noise. Now it's dead :p.

My gf bathed her Moto G for at least 10 seconds or so whilst she was fishing for it!

stripped, 48 hours later, in rice, on the radiator and I has been perfect ever since.
