I posted in the BMW thread about a BMW M5 E60 V10... I LOVE that car, it's my #1 favorite sports saloon.

But, out of curiosity, if you had £20,000 with a little leverage (no more than a few grand) either way, what would you purchase?

An Audi S line quattro?

Criteria are no 100k motors, fairly new, not something from the 90's... And... Well yea, just a nice smart modern motor.

Thanks

You'd get a B7 RS4 for that money, or my money would go on a B8 S4 then a remap.

I wouldn't put the S4 in the same league as the C63, and definately not the M5. They are all actually in different classes in my eyes.

C63 AMG, M3 & RS4 belong together. E63 AMG, M5 and RS6 belong together. And then you have the 335i and S4 battling it out in the lower groups (don't even care if Mercedes do have a contender in this segment). That would be how I would "group" them. Putting an S4 in with a C63 is very unfair, and either of them with an M5 is a travesty.

And I suspect you REALLY wouldn't want a manual E63. These cars scream auto box all day long. C63 / M3 / RS4, yeah, manual for sure. Once you're up with the bigger boys, auto for sure.

Either a garage queen e39 M5 or the V10 e60, torn between the style of the e39 and the engine in the e60.

Probably the best e39 I could find and keep a large part of it for the inevitible huge bills.

E63 AMG :)

70k miles for £21k mind... That said if they did a manual it may have distracted me from my Lotus Esprit shopping for a bit longer :)[/QUOTE]

That's stunning - but goodness me I didn't they were still commanding such prices  is that a one off overpriced one or is that going rate for a facelift?

Although I suppose it's the 63 not the 55.

I would have:

1) Subaru Legacy S402
2) Honda Accord Euro R
3) Lexus IS-F

Personally don't consider something like a E63 as a sports saloon, its a fast saloon, but doesn't have much sporty or dynamic qualities.

Ok ok, all really epic suggestions. Now how about with comfort in mind? Something that will shift when I put my foot down, but more focused to the quality and comfort of the ride...

Glad i'm not the only one thinking of the Euro R, love it, I would love my Accord to have 220bhp
