The Viper has always and should always be the lesser of the Cobra. The Viper is a pack hunter craft.

Man i forgot how expensive it is to run these large ships, really need to sort out fuel scooping without overheating and causing me a fortune on that front.

Don't the rail guns cost a fortune in ammo?

Depends how accurate you are. The cost is far offset by the amount of fun it is instapopping powerplants. They do however gimp the rest of the cobra load out in power consumption even with an A rated powerplant so you need to make some compromises elsewhere.

But they are so much fun the cost is kinda irrelevant once you get good at using them.

Bah! Just got another bounty because 1 stupid cannon round hit a cobra that got in the way while I was trying to take down an Anaconda! :(

I'll be so happy when the beta patch goes live and we stop getting bounties for accidently friendly fire.

Finally bit the bullet and got a Cobra. I got 500k trade-in for my Sidey, so I ended up with quite a bit of dough to spend outfitting it with some reasonable gear.

I hope you sold all your modules separately?

The trick to minimising loses when selling ships to sell all of the modules first as you get back the full purchase price. For things like the FSD and other modules that have to be present, buy the smallest and cheapest one that you can fit to replace what's on the ship.

Only 10% of the modules.

Which can be a bit :p

But you could always go to Jameson and offset that. (if you have the permit)

Looks like shield cells are getting nerfed, 5 seconds to activate and lots of heat gain, suppose it was needed, but 5 seconds is an eternity when you are in battle or fleeing for your life, more likely to collapse before they activate :(

Had a good bounty hunting session last night, gave up on nav beacons and went to the rings of a planet - dropped out of SC, and kept going in and out until I got the right spawn, lots of action, thick and fast... I was making about 2Mcr per hour doing this, could get a lot more in a Python, but there's something I love about the Anaconda :D

But have you seen the pic of the new Core Dynamics Corvette, Fed ship, it sure looks pretty.

I am such a noob. I run a fuel scoop on my conda and set my 100Ly route and off I went. I normally get the fuel down to half and then fill up off a star but thought I would go a bit further....Needless to say that the stars are the brown one's everywhere and I am screwed. No fuel and no way of fueling :(

Thanks god for insurance :D
