Good sports saloon for £20k (used)?

That version of the E-Class has dated so badly.

I always relate it to old south Asian men that can't afford a newer model but want to drive a Mercedes.

I didnt realize these were in this price bracket. Probably because i tend to look at the grand turismos which are closer to 40.

What are these like compared with the aforementioned cars? do they compare with a DB9 for example?

I dont know much about them but I have been around in a 4.7 GT and its a nice car however my understanding is that the 4.2 is not really much good.

The 4.7 is a lot more more money they seem to start at around £30k

Can you get a 640d in your price range? its 2 doors but really nice cars.

My favourite was the trio of terrible spec diesel 3 Series. Particular the one with PROFESSIONAL MEDIA that actually has no media package at all!

I wouldn't say it's a terrible spec, you could spend £20k on a car much worse :p

Anyway, I don't think I'd know where to start if I was given £20k to buy a car, just a family friend is looking for something around that price range and asked for a few recommendations as well.

The C350's and 335D's I've suggested might not have as much power but still pretty decent, less miles on them and size is better, bit more compact than the XFR and 7 Series. Mercedes and BMW's are more modern than Jag's anyway these days.

And, yeah, I'd admit *FULL PROFESSIONAL MEDIA PACK* caught my eye but there's nothing of the sort inside the car ha ha.

They are base spec cars which is why they are cheap, no navigation, no proper media pack, reflector headlights, etc.

As they are smaller then quite obviously the size is not better :p
