On that subject, as im in Gibraltar, there's no real problem if I go for the Bluefin option...right?
As far as I know, its just a case of purchasing, getting cars ECU info, sending it to superchips via their software, receiving a map and uploading that to the car?
Might as well ask here, whats the process in upgrading the Travelpilot NX software?
My one comes up with the following:
MAIN_VER_SW: 0336_071128
REG_VERSION: DI_SWNAVI6.4C1P21
NAV_VER_SW: N0967VF__6.4C1P21
(And no, not actually taken out the Maps DVD to check the year on it..yet)
Are there any roads on Gib long enough to get the benefit of the extra power

The nav upgrade is quite straightforward. SP5.3 is easily available, but I can send you a copy if required. Burn the files to a CD or DVD, eject the Nav disk, put the disk in an it'll update. I'd suggest you have the engine running - mine gave a Low Battery about half way through and I believe if the power goes during the flash the unit may be bricked. I just left it and it was fine. I think the low battery warning on the Mk4 is a bit overzealous anyway.
Warning for anyone who does this without the engine running - Don't start the car if you see the low battery warning because it cuts the power to the nav unit!
Your software is quite old. The latest version is 1811, the bit after the underscore is the release date so yours is 28/11/2007, the latest one is some time in late 2010.
If your nav disk is original you might have a problem, I think it needs a 2009 onwards disk otherwise it tries to downgrade the nav software when you put this disk back in. I didn't have this because mine is a 2010 car.
If you've got Bluetooth, there's a 2012 update for that, Howard's written a guide for that posted earlier in this thread. On mine this added a signal strength meter on the nav screen which is useful.
