Goes into a shut down and restart loop.

If it comes on it functions normally, but it will only start up if i unplug the kettle lead and plug it back in.

The kettle lead makes a crackling sound when i plug it in also.

What to do?

"Kettle Lead" will always make a cracking noise when you plug it in, you wan't to worry when it doesn't ;).

Have you contacted OCUK? It will be under warranty obviously. Don't go messing with it in case it affects your warranty.

They aren't open till monday, i will phone them then. I haven't touched it at all. just unplugged the cables in the back and back in etc.

It's not great when it happens on a new PC, but they will have stress tested the machine before it went out however nothing is ever 100% certain.

Don't get wound up about it, give the guys a call on monday and I assume they will arrange to get the machine collected.

So, i changed the kettle lead and it "seems" to be working now, ill give it a few days and see how it goes.

I've had this happen when I upgraded my 2500k to a 3770k, but my issue was an outdated BIOS that had no support for 3rd gen Intel CPU's.

Seems like you just maybe had a faulty cable?

All I can add is.

If you plug the kettle lead into the PSU (WHILST) it isn't plugged into the wall it will not make a sound what so ever!
