I have a i5 4670 non k ( got it for a good price ;-) ) now is it worth getting s k or just stay with what I got ?
Pc uses are gamming the odd video coding normal stuff really. What do you guys think ?

If you can sell your CPU for a decent price,i would go for it personally,as you already have a z97 mobo for overclocking.

What games do you play? Some benefit substantially from Overclocking, others not so much.

Stick with it imo, it should be good for a while, still a very good CPU. Wait until the future and put that money into an i7 4770k/4790k in the long run for a future upgrade

All depends on how much you can pull it off for :) If like £10 then yes of course, probably up to £40 imo is worth it

Been out the game for a while to be honest. So I'm still looking at graphics cards I did go for 970 card but the coil whine was too much 1st and 2nd card was worse. That's s different topic I guess ;-)
Ya I am thinking of just sticking with it and waiting. If I did get somthing diff like your suggesting I could always put the i5 in the home server to replace the g3240

I have an i5 4440 and it's bottlenecked by my 770 card. I'd say there's no point to upgrade at the moment, even if you get a 970.

I wouldn't bother, just sell it when something better comes along with the motherboard and RAM. Not worth the hassle for another 15% increase in performance and losing £40-£50.

What PSU and GFX do you have?

you have not named the brand of your PSU and not listed your GFX in your sig, that tells me your PSU is cheap so you didnt name the brand and the GFX is old so you did name it. if that is the case then look at replacing them before doing a next to nothing upgrade on the CPU.

I could be wrong, you may have a NZXT 1200w and GTX 980 :D, this is just my thoughts

whats happend tot he cpu prices why have they sky rocketed.

My xeon was only £180 on realease now there like £240 same for teh i5's and I7's.

Xeons are been used for gaming so the price went up to match the mainstream CPU's, the other went up because that life and everything go's up
