Been with these for a few years now, but I have been having trouble with them as of late.

Signal is constantly rubbish, internet hardly ever works. It has gone massively downhill in the last few months. Use to be great and could get signal everywhere.

I thought maybe it is my phone (Moto G 5") but my partners signal is just as bad (SGS4).

Anyone else having these problems with Giffgaff lately?

Think we are going to jump ship and find some sim free deals. Who to though?

Signal is fine for me (thats O2s responsibility anyway), however data (particularly 3G) has been rubbish for over a year now..

1) O2's network is just not that good for data.
2) giffgaff has been having congestion problems, making speeds even worse.

I suggest checking out 3 as they're pretty good for data, but you do need to check coverage first. Maybe even check out EE as well. They will have coverage checkers on their sites which will give you a good idea on what you'll get, but it's not always accurate.

I'm still on giffgaff but that's because O2 offers the best coverage for my area...

I said to the other half just today I'm ditching giffgaff. Full 5 bar signal and no internet at all, It's pretty bad everywhere I go but sometimes it works just fine.

Signal I've never had problems with (same as O2) but their data speeds have been tanked for awhile in many areas - picked up a little bit lately but still quite often seeing dialup speeds while having a full H+ signal.

Giffgaff is owned by Telefonica and therefore it baffles me why it continues to exist. Their reputation is crap, their service is crap, their earnings are crap. It's all crap.

Prolly due to people like me who have a £5/m backup data sim with them and hardly ever actually use them :S

I'm guessing the price, I really can't find anything comparable else I'd leave (3 are close but not an option for me as 3 signal sucks where I live), and I guess not everyone is bothered about decent data speeds.

If the only problem with three is where you live then the homesignal device is very good. Generally out and about I have no problem with three. Just buildings seems to be the issue. But love its data handling :)

I get no signal with o2 in Staveley Rybo. Not had a problem with virgin (EE).

Considering going 3 next though for the 4gb data allowance.

Yeah I thought about that, but unfortunately its not only inside the house, I gave it a try for a few days and there are various places around the village I live in where I get no signal, I don't want to walk down the road and not be able to make/receive a voice call. Shame though, loved the data speeds when I tested them in town.

I'm from chesterfield too, and haven't noticed any change in service. Both myself, Mrs & lil girl are on giff gaff. For the money it does the job. Did try 3 and it was shocking, even waited till we moved house, and in our new house it was just as bad. Great outside, but as soon as you went indoors, all signal went. I had to leave the phone in the window to try and pick up calls and text! They offered me one of those booster boxes, but if you think I'm gonna cart that thing around with me every time I'm in someone else's house you can coco!
