Meet AMD's Radeon R9 300 Gang

i said it looked bloody awfall and it does :p but all you need to do is to replace the Rad for something really nice..........one of those CPU jobs

To be honest, the rads would be mostly out-of-sight once you closed the case...just need to pair them up with some good looking fans that it's sorted :p

I can't even see my H105 rad once I closed the windowed-panel of my CM690 III :D

flipping heck ha ha.......... no i'm not going to say a thing ;)

but interestingly your case has the same internal layout as my new IN-WIN..........so yea' a 240 rad on a 390X2 will be a dead easy mod, interesting thanks for that.

is that rad intake or exhaust ?

It's intake.

I did try to mount it as exhaust at top, but the CoolerMaster 690 III is not big enough to mount the 120 rad of the CPU cooler at the rear exhaust at the same time, so this was the only option. I do have two 140mm fan on the roof of the case as exhaust, so no heat from the 290X is gonna stay in :D

*For the record the picture above I haven't closed the panel yet, the 690II Window-panel actually only show like 2/3 of the panel:

my guess is my next upgrade will be after the summer..... because to replace my 970s in SLI it'll have to be something damned powerful.

forget the RAM, because at 1080p the 970 is a brilliant card in so many other ways, so i'm not really that desperate right now.............just bored.

And this is exactly why I've said before the 970/980 should had been 960/960Ti or 960Ti/970 in reality, but they were sold as "970/980" because Nvidia wanted to have their new gen cards competing against old gen cards :D

+1

The only cards worthy of an upgrade from these gens seems to be GM200 and 390X, but we can expect heavy pricing on these, especially Nvidia's..

If I had any patience (We all know I don't) I would wait until we see a new top to bottom stack of new architecture and die shrunk cards that will probably come in 2016..

However I will soon probably be milked along with all the enthusiasts, just plz don't let nvidia's card be faster.. I do not want to return to the dark side !

I feel this could be a good move by AMD. Higher clocks make it faster out the box and people look at Vs benchmarks and take that as enough reason to upgrade. A 1200Mhz 290X 380X will compete nicely with a 980 I should imagine and Joe public will be happy. AIB's are doing the coolers, so that will keep the cards cool enough at those clocks as well.

This will help to keep AMD afloat.

lol good luck with that :p

Just like Kaap had ranted about how the 970/980 were not going to be the big Maxwell that we all want before they were released, and one day he woke up with four 980 and now (two...or was it four? :p) 960 :D

You will be joining Kaap soon enough...just saying :D

960 feel like such an expensive toy when similar money can be blown on something like this instead :p

I was right though and there are plenty of ex GTX 970 owners who will back me up.:)

I bought my 4 x 980s for one purpose and they do it very well, 1080p benching fun. For serious gaming I have other options.:D

Understandable, im the same but nvidia are always to overpriced (TITAN LOL) while offering a small bump of performance over amd, and i still won't mind seeing them get little slap for what they be doing.

I run a pair of Titans and they've turned out great value for longevity due to their spec. Although I also run a pair of 290X's so go figure.
