Hi guys I'm looking to get a new laptop, my budget is £1000 willing to go up to £1100 if the difference is massive. I'm not a looks person, I don't care if it all glows etc I just want the best bang for my buck... ATM -

the gigabyte P35W V2-CF4 looks like the best deal.

My question is, is there a better deal out there i'm not seeing? Also, would it be cheaper to pick up a custom built one without an OS as I have a Windows 7 disc, meaning that I don't really need it to come with an OS.

Also, is there anything new on the horizon that may cause a fluctuation in prices meaning if I waited a month id be able to buy a much better spec for the same price?

Many Thanks for all your help!

was looking at that P35W with the 870m best deal at the moment at £999.

Ended up going with the P34g as i wanted something a little smaller with the 14 inch screen and the GTX 860M is more than enough for me.

The p35w is very good i love the hot swappable drive. :D

You can get a 17" Asus G750JH ROG with 4GB 780M, 256gb SSD, 750GB HDD, Blu-Ray etc etc for under £1k if you look around.

It's a great machine for under a grand.

Also in the market for a new laptop for around £1000. Saw this one...reviews look pretty positive, only negative is poor reception/range of the WLAN.

Anybody else able to offer further thoughts/comments on this machine?

Thanks,

I have the 880m model which is identical apart from 880m and have never had any issues with the wireless. Tbh the Killer card used in this is miles better than the Intel one I had in my G751....

Been checking out reviews, performance stats etc and it appears to me that nothing can come close to the Asus G750JH in terms of bang for your buck (£970 incl VAT).

I can find very few laptops with the new GTX 965M (virtually identical performance to the GTX 780M)…the ones I have found have been circa £1200 and then don’t come with 16Gb RAM, Blu-ray, 256Gb SSD + 750Gb HDD.

It's a cracking machine for the money. It's also very well built with a nice alloy keyboard panel and white back lighting. The 751 feels cheap compared to the 750.

You also get a removable battery as well which is handy if it dies.

I doubt there is many of them left now so worth grabbing whilst you can.

I would much rather a 780M than 965M tbh.
