China to invest $19B into AMD - no buyout on the cards

"they are" in context here means "if they can". And they made profit recently so I win anyway.

GG no takebacksies.

Why are you so ardently defending AMD? If you honestly think they are doing well, you need to re-educate yourself, as they are just cutting staff and R&D has been slashed yet again and this doesn't bode well for the future.

I would lend you a spade, but I see you brought your own :D

"ardently defending" PROPER LOL :D

You're blind.

Actually, quite the opposite and I can see pretty clearly that AMD need a cash injection. Year on year losses doesn't bode well for a decent future and when you look at the competition, it is a tough market to compete in.

And I have only to look at your posting history to see what your stance is. This thread is no different to any other thread where you jump to the defence of AMD.

If this is true Nvidia should be worried, If AMD can match them with no revenue and almost no R&D imagine what they will do with a few Billion $

Headhunt all the best engineers around the world, pay them more salary than the competitors, then reap the rewards... boom!

Not have to sell expensive to manufacture cards at razor margins to compete with mid range chips?

No revenue?
You do realise that AMD's revenue is actually 20-30% higher that nvidias right?
The difference is that nvidia make a profit and funnel some of that back in to R&D, AMD hire an ever increasing army of forum warriors and PR mouthpieces and wonder why they are consistently in the red

I hope it does go through, ever escalating nvidia prices due to a total lack of meaningful competition is not good for my whingeometer

AMD only have about $2.8bn in assets and no profit, so no way anyone is going to invest $19bn, you could actually buy AMD for $4bn based off their current balance sheet
