Hi guys,

Could you please spec me a pure gaming build for £1600.

Operating system required
New Keyboard/Mouse Required
monitor not required

I'm not confident in building myself so will ask customer service if they can build for me at a price.

Looking to play games like Evolve/battlefield 4/WoW.

Cheers :)

Thanks! you think there wouldn't be much performance difference in the second spec? If so perhaps I should purchase a nice monitor to go with the new PC :)

The 2 290X in Crossfire will be much faster and will do 4K gaming etc.

The single GTX970 will play at 1080p+1440P very well.

Thanks Stulid, I'll go with the 2x 290x then!

I think I also need an optical drive (dvds/older games etc)

Could you please advise :)

Whoa I cancelled the order.

please advise as I really need a new monitor and this one sounded awesome :(

Guess I should have read more into it

As you mentioned in your opening post that you didn't need a monitor, I assume you have one you can use for the time being ?

There are Freesync Monitors (AMD version of G-Sync) due out in March such as the one below. If you can make do with your current Monitor then you can grab a Freesync one when they come out.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Acer Predator XG277HU 27" FREESYNC TN 144Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red (UM.HG0EE.001) £429.95
Total : £439.55 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I have a terribly old 18.5 inch monitor.....
Heartbreaking having to wait til March end to use a new monitor with the new beast PC.

Would I be missing out big time in keeping the Rog swift with my AMD graphics cards?

G-Sync technology only works with Nvidia cards :(

If you want a 1440p screen then you could go for something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus PB278QR 27" Professional LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £429.95
Total : £439.55 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The panel won't be as fast as the ROG swift as it is IPS rather than TN, but it should still be fine for gaming on.

Hmm considering a 24 inch 1080 with fast response and refresh rate rather than bigger/slower monitors. My gaming is mixed between WoW and FPS games and although I'm not a hugely competitive I like the idea of fast response/refresh rate.
Really not sure whether to wait two months or go for the smaller 1080 screen (see attached). Also I'm so used to a small 18.5 screen 27 inch sounds soo big!

What do you think, with my new build would I be wasting a lot of potential on a 1080 screen?

when you say canceled the order, was the that just the monitor, or the hole lot?

why not go SLI 970 and get the rog swift. will still be plenty fast enough for 120+ fps and gsync will work :)

At 1080p you will be able to crank the settings right up. On a 60Hz monitor it would be a waste, but it won't be too bad on a 144Hz monitor. You can always upgrade the monitor once Freesync is properly established.

That was just the Monitor I think. He is getting a pre-built pc which is due this week so it is probably too late to change the gpu's.

I cancelled the monitor, sorry I wasn't clear. The PC is being prebuilt and shipped today/tomorrow.

Maybe I'll buy the "LG 24GM77 24" TRUE 144Hz" monitor then grab the freesync in March to dual screen
