Think thats where i messed up (again) cant find a station for a new drive... There needs to be more details on stations from the map on the level of equipment sold.

User tools are appalling in this game atm. I used the trade tool on the commodities screen and it advised X exports to Y, so i bought X and the profit was....... 5c per ton

this game is causing me to put on weight via rage quits and walks to the shops to buy hob nobs. 3rd time now.

Ah, but the walk cancels out the extra calories... ;)

Did the same thing - sold my python for a type9 and used it for a week doing luxury runs about 2 weeks ago.

Still have it. Almost quite like it. Got a A rated FSD and its not too bad. Not ASP territory by a long way, but not too bad.

Problem is that the ONLY way of making any real money is grinding a trade route. At the moment I'm clearing 1.2million on a 1 jump round trip.

If I ever want one of the bigger ships equipped to a reasonable degree you have to do it.

How are the trade routes holding up now? last thing I heard is that if you grind a route for more than 30 mins it collapses,

I haven't done any trading at all for about 2 weeks, done nothing other than bounty hunt - but I'm liking the look of the corvette so I might do the federation rank missions and more trading,

How do you take part? Is there a mission at a local station?

Basically Yembo is serving as a staging post for the construction of a new explorer class space station. They need all metals and are paying over the odds for them. So you can make a good profit lugging hauls back and forth from nearby systems that sell metals.

There's also a community goal aspect. Once you've signed up it tracks how much you've contributed. The reward you get depends on how much you've given and how many tiers of the overall goal is reached.

Well that was good...Got interdicted in Yembo by another Anaconda who took out my thrusters and left me stranded 5Mm away from the station with a cargo full of gold and mission supplies for about 5 mission...Can't do anything...About done with this game tbh.

If your playing in open, then expect it i am afraid and expect a significant amount of cheating.

Join a closed group, it is the only way to play this game safely really. I wouldnt touch open with nothing more than kitted out Eagle/Viper. There is still not any significant detrimental effect to punish the griefers or kill jocks.

Yeah back to solo for a while, cost me about 16 mil for insurance + cargo. Look out for 'CMDR goosenuts' he did me and he's also known for combat logging so don't feel bad doing the same.

Ouch, that sucks :(

I guess that's the problem with these public community goals - it's just a huge flashing "$" sign for pirates....

Don't combat log. They are now tracking those doing it and will be punishing them at a later date! Which will almost certainly involve having assets, stats and credits removed.

They spoke about it on the forums a couple of weeks ago and it's now considered cheating.

Wasn't even piracy, I quite like a good fight even though I'm not specced for it, it was just griefing. He took my shields down and destroyed my thrusters before I could even turn to face him and then just sat there.

Yeah,

It seems due to the lack of any real PVP people are resorting to griefing, like the situation in Leesti - nobody wants a fight, they just want to upset someone..

If you want a good fight - get a sidewinder and go interdicting people in Vipers, it's way more fun, I find PVP in big ships impossible, you either smash them in 5 seconds or they run off.

The game is coming to a critical point in my opinion - a lot of people playing, a lot of people wanting action, but with no outlets for it - it's just going to spill over in other ways, and cause misery for others..

I think I just killed an NPC by accident. Was flying into a station, slowed right down to get into the slot without a collision and an Adder appeared coming the other way. We hit head on, but both ships moving slowly. My shields didn't even go down by a single notch.

I assumed the other ship was fine, but as it flew past me the pilot said "how is this happening!?" and then I heard an explosion.

They've really gone too far with this collision thing. I know I'm flying an Asp, but it was a love tap, not a full on ramming! :/

For some reason small scrapes are insta-death, but a proper ram isn't.

On the test server I got in to a type-9 and then booted it as hard as possible (on boost) out of the hanger bashing multiple people out of the way, destroying some and I only lost shields. Yet a slight rub at low speed against another ship does huge damage.

Leaving the hangars should be on full auto mode its ridiculous how you get bumped by a little knock from another ship out of nowhere then lose control & your ship can easily explode inside the hangar which is a critical issue if you do not have the buyback insurance its game over!

The game is slowly getting better but still so many obvious niggling issues:

The planetary rings go missing after you flyby them once try looking in the rear of the cockpit they disappear until you leave the system.

Rear of the cockpit has a clipping error if you look around you can often see the sun or planet behind through the actual seat.

Trading is hit or miss sit in the buy screen & without warning commodities appear for sale but the main Trading screen does not reflect this it shows the inventory as still empty.

Map is still unfriendly to use it takes ages to find what you need.

1.1 has much smoother FPS & the gamepad controls seem more responsive but most of the other changes are pretty transparent so far.

I am taking risks at the mo, as I don't have enough to cover my rebuy if I crash/die, so only solo mode for me for the next few hours... Maybe I should strip my ship down a bit?

What is this combat logging?

If you lose your ship get a screen that lets you choose which modules you want back on the insurance. Although I haven't tested it, I would hope that if you're just short of the rebuy price, you can unselect a module or two and then get your ship back that way.

Combat logging is Alt+F4 during a fight, usually just before you lose.
