*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I've updated the list of recommended Wii U games in the post above. If anyone has any suggestions of games to add let me know, I'll keep updating the post.
I'll add a list of upcoming games at some point too.

Just got a Wii U for the work lunchroom so a list of the best couch multiplayer/coop games would be awesome! I'm not sure what to get. The obvious two are Mario kart and smash bro which we already have.

Thanks in advance!

Wii Party U and Nintendoland are good fun but you'll need Wii remotes. Wii Sports also great MP fun, but Wii remotes needed for that too.

The big one is Mario 3D World - really ace MP fun, real riot.

Quite tempted by Mario Party 10 despite never having owned one and only renting one once on the Wii, just feel it will likely take good advantage of the awesome gamepad

sorry for being a noob
i think i will get the 8gb basic wii u because i do not need the cradle etc
however do i need a sensor bar?
ive read mixed things like you only need one if you want to play wii games.
but if i get the pro controller will i need the sensor bar?

megalomanic you just reminded me of fatal frame 5 on that list, i really hope it gets a EU release but it's not looking likely.

Has anyone bought Nes Remix? Do you think it's worth grabbing? I've been waiting for a physical release but it doesn't look like we're getting one.

sorry for being a nuisance
seen a bundle at game, basic wii u and smash bros for £169, do you think its good value? (i have a 32gb sandisk ultra usb flash drive)

I get usb drives free through work (not cheapo ones lol) so that isnt an issue also i can get an external hdd if need be
Looking at some games if i wanted to download them are like 10gb anyway, well the bigger titles are
I would like the premium but not sure paying the extra £30 for a sensor bar and some additional items i wont use are worth it.. Hmmmm

Just ordered it!
Hopefully will be here tomorrow
Ordered the pro controller (£29)
Batman arkham origins (£6.95 new)
On the look out for zelda wind waker hd, never played a zelda game before, i am interested to see what it is like

Now to flog my xbox one :)

Wind Waker is awesome, i really couldn't put it down. Also i'm not joking when i say look out for Lego City Undercover (best game ever, and i'm sure those that played it will agree).

Just trying to find it reasonably priced... Damn nintendo exclusives are expensive arent they?!
I used to like the lego games but them going sort of open world i dont like that

Yeah especially the Mario/Zelda's seem to hold their price really well. Lego City Undercover really is an awesome game to play, i think you would be missing a treat if you don't play it.

Received my wii u today
Think its faulty, when playing the all you can hear is the disc spinning or the fan is at full whack

Its only loud when playing a game, without a disc in the system is silent
That video doesnt do it justice, even my wife said "it aint going to be making that noise all the time is it"

Edit: taking it back its unbearable, will get a refund (hopefully) and probably get a 3ds

It does sound quite loud even in that video - sounds like the fan.

Aside from disc read noises when loading things, I can't really hear mine unless the TV volume is way down and it's fairly quiet in the room, and even then it's not loud.
