I'm not looking for the best of the best, but they need to be able to handle a lot of bass
not that I'll be listening to thumping techno! they're for an electro acoustic guitar that produces a lot of bass

would £40 get somehthing decent?

oh, they must be comfortable to wear!

thanks, the only thing is (and something I didn't think of before) is the cable is only 1.2m on those
the ones I have just now have a 3m cable
not really wanting to start messing about with extension cables

Samson SASR850C Professional Studio Reference Open Back Headphones

Buy them from Amazon, you get thirty days to return them used or not, I bet you would keep them.

yeah, I'm the opposite of someone who buys Beats by Dr Dre 'cans' :D
I think what he meant is you are hoping for a bit too much for £40, even if you are not buying Beats!

The chances are if you want something that's decent to your usage and requirement, you'd ideally still have to spend at least around £80-£120 range...

you come in with "that" title..........and your looking to spend £40  just get out of the forum :p :D

You sound like an 'audiophile'. :p

I could understand your comment, had he asked for 'high quality' headphones with £40 to spend. There decent headphones to be had even at the budget end, though.

Yea but he has specific requirement for bass...and with a £40 budget, headphone/headset in that price range the bass would most likely be either weak, or heavy but loose and uncontrolled :p

hmm, I have Sennheiser wireless headphones that are used for the TV, HDR120 - are these rated as fairly low end?
I'm sure it was only about £50 for those and the transmitter!

another thing I have realised, I want over ear, these wireless ones always feel like theyre going to fall off!

budget isn't fixed, £40 just seemed like a reasonable figure to me, i didn't realise there were £300 in-ear headphones until looking today!!

also....do any of the bluetooth headphones come with a base/transmitter so you can plug them in to any headphone socket on tv/pc etc? or are they all meant for streaming direct with phones/ipads etc

If you want strong bass, comfort, durability and a long lead then the Beyerdynamic DT770 pro (80ohm) at £112 is probably your best bet.

In ear earphones sell for a lot more than £300 :D

Exactly what I had in mind as well.

I once saw the DT770 Pro (80ohm) on Amazon Lightning deal at just £88 or something, but it was already 100% claimed...and I never seen it pop up on lightning deals again :(

Maybe so, but he should have been told that getting plenty of good well controlled bass at this budget, is really not a possibility.

Surely it's more helpful to inform those that do not know, rather than to basically tell them that they're having a laugh.

They're RS120. HDR120 I think is the model number if you want to buy another pair of just the headphones.

They're pretty low end wireless headphones, at least they are the cheapest model Sennheiser make. They are reasonably good as far as wireless headphones go.

Wireless headphones have a lot more electronics than standard headphones, so a decent pair of wireless headphones will cost more than decent budget wired headphones. I think the RS120 II are currently just under £80. £80 wired headphones would be much better.

Ive got Shure SE530s and Beyerdynamic T90s and i love the sound the T90s produce but for £400+ i didnt expect any less.

Anything sub £100 i think are pretty meh if you want proper sound.

I think we're getting well out of the OP's intended range now :D

I suggested the DT770 as the minimum realistic level for satisfying all of his needs.
