Primochill ghost/revolver fittings

They are comparatively massive, that's a 90° Bitspower rotary on the bottom of the res with a 10/13mm Ghost fitting. On the plus side the paint and knurling match quite well but the outer diameter is very different. That will be the case with most rigid compression fittings against 1/4" stuff.

Ghosts are 22mm OD approximately.

Quality build m8 what are the primochill fittings like to work with, what's their quality like and how did you get on with the bending ?

Certainly nothing wrong with the Ghosts. I did get one stuck in a radiator because of dirt and paint in the threads which was actually a problem with the rad but it did highlight that there is nothing to undo the fittings with. The Alphacool HT conterpart for example has a hexagon through the centre but a cloth and pipe grip resolved the problem and extracted it without damage. They have just one big chunky o-ring to seal on the pipe whereas others have multiple but it really wasn't a problem at all, they all sealed perfect first time and support the tubing runs well. They look really clean, all of the plating and anodizing is great although the knurling is slightly inconsistent when all 16 are compared side by side.

Bending wasn't easy to get perfect, getting the cord to fit well is critical as is getting the heat just right. Plus physically dimensioning and reproducing each piece is not simple and ultimately just requires a few attempts. Get plenty of extra tubing and all of the right tools and repeat it until you get it right. I think it's difficulty shines through when you look at various builds, sometimes and often it can look bad. Mandrels are a must. Get multiple cords so you get a nice fit and lube them otherwise they won't come out.

Also super money saving tip, do not buy 2 foot lengths of acrylic! Buy it in 3 foot lengths otherwise you end up with 10 million offcuts that are all too short to do anything useful with. Make the big most complicated runs first, if they go partly wrong or don't quite fit you may be able to cut a smaller run out of it. Primochill say measure-cut-bend-fit but I would advise leaving the cutting until after you've bent it. Start bending it close to the end of the tube, if it goes wrong cut it off and you still have a pretty big piece.

Thanks for the info above - thinking of having a go myself. If only Ocers were not out of stock all the time. Grrrrr.

Thanks for all the info dude my current build has the bitspower c47 fittings in and ive just gone with straight acrylic pieces in it, and as I'm upgrading a few components ive been giving thought to the primochill fittings and having a go at bending too.
I appreciate your reply thanks :)
