The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

Pocket Now are reporting that the M9 will not actually have a 20 MP camera but will use the two cameras at the back to produce a 20 MP shot in the same vein as the Huawei Honor 6 Plus and Oppo Find 7.

I don't know where they got the info from but I certainly hope this isn't true.
 
I get that they are trying to be different but for the love of God.....why not just do what Samsung/Apple do? If the M8 had the camera from the GS5 or iP5s/6, it would be almost untouchable.

Awaiting this with interest as I'm due an upgrade...

Never really been that into phones but never been fond of a downgrade or side-grade either :p (Currently got an S4 that keeps needing to restart due to thinking SIM has been removed).
 
Half of me wants one of these and the other half of me wonders what the point is.

I paid £500 for my HTC One M7 about 21 months ago and other than terrible battery life it's a great phone - quick, responsive, great screen, etc. It is worth perhaps £80 to recycle so I'd need to shell out at least £420 to upgrade it for the M9 and for what?

Hmmm.

The battery thing is hugely annoying though, ideally I'd want to replace a 2 year old battery to get maximum performance but of course with the One you cannot do this. It essentially brings forward the obsolescence of the phone and again makes me question why I'd spend another £500-600 on a product the manufacturer has almost deliberately ensured will need to be popped in the nearest bin 2-3 years later..
