Windows 10 for Phone

Looks like a big improvement. Last time I used a Windows phone I felt the UI was one of its biggest let downs. This looks to have improved things, although I still think Microsoft has a long way to go.
 
Any reason why they left out the 930 which is meant to be the current flagship still? But of course the newer 830 somehow gets it as its not been out as long....

Well it worked, took ages to download and install.

The good bits, being able to have coloured back grounds make it look so much better, the new photos app is nice, also cortana, though you do have to set it to US, the new setting's menu is much better.

The bad, it is lagy, definitely not something to run as a daily right now, it has froze completely once needing a hard reset, the ui is jerky and sometimes slow to load.

Fora preview though it's not bad, and make's me want the full release even more.
 
This is good to know cheers, it does look a step in right direction from the vids shown. Can't wait for it to be released full on.
 
Strange that Cortana needs to be set to US again! She works nicely on my 830 (8.1 update 1 Denim) with everything set to UK...

Still gonna wait!! :)
 
I mean the thing I'm most interested about...which tempted me to pick up a Lumia 930...is the universal apps between Windows 10 on Desktop and Phone...this opens up a massive marketplace and we should surely see and increase in the quality of the marketplace on Phone when Windows 10 is released to the market...

At least in theory :p

Hope so yes, Might finally get a good Twitter app :D As none so far are that impressive.
 
So install windows 10 for phones on my trusty 920. (work around) worked fine except three seem to block all data from that OS so I went to revert my 920 to windows 8 and something went wrong and I bricked it. I couldnt reflash it, guys at nokia shop couldnt reflash it so they sent it off hopefully will get it back all sorted soon.

Oh no! this is the first negative experience I have heard from the workaround.

I wont be doing it on mine until its officially available! Too scared to brick my phone

take a look at aeries for windows phone its in closed private beta right now but the public version will be released soon you could ask dev on twitter for info he is a UK dev
