Hey, before I begin, is there no tech help section? Looked but can't find.

I don't have the best rig ever;

8gb RAM
Asus AMD Radeon R7 240 730MHz 2GB DDR3 PCI-E 3.0 HDMI Low Profile
Intel i5 (can't remember the number exactly but I think it begins with 6)

I can play games like Far Cry 4 and Dying Light without any crashes, glitching etc... the only symptom I have is ever so slight lag, ever ever ever so slight.

Is there anything I can tweak to make this run a lil bit smoother? I don't mind dropping the graphics quality to low and did so for FC4 and noticed it get a bit better but not completely. I have ASUS GPU Tweak which lets me mess about with it but I've not touched it yet 'cause I don't know what I'm doing.

Anything, other than buying a better Graphics card, that I can do for now?

Cheers

Do you have vsync turned on? Ditch it if so. Other obvious ones are things like DOF, shadow quality and AA.

Even if you've got lots of graphics and cpu grunt vsync will introduce lag into the equation. I always have it disabled.

what is your fps in these games?
it might just be the symptoms of low fps if your getting under 30 you will feel it for sure in fps games

Not sure I'll download fraps and post that tonight. If it's still kicking about, I've been out of the game for about 5 years and all my knowledge has been forgotten.

Problem with that is he'll suffer endless screen tear.

Games in steam can have an FPS counter turned on now from within steam so Dying light can use that instead of FRAPS

cards slightly weak. those game you playing though are very optimized. so as others say you probably dropping below 30 fps.

I'm guessing 'slightly' is a bit of an understatement. :P Not daft enough to think a £60 card would get me a smooth experience but if I can smooth it out a bit for the time being I'd be happy.

As for GPU Tweak, is there anything I can do with that?

pretty much everycard is overclockable but it's only a few percent boost which might be 1-2 fps for you and not worth doing

get a second hand 7850 or something
