****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

I've not ordered from an EU Amazon site before but had to for these. They sold out pretty quickly too.

Think nintendo missed a trick not having the 3ds xl have replacable cover plates
would have liked those zelda ones

After complaining about the chargers Nintendo sent me a promo code for a free charger, even though they sent them eventually..

Never got my charger, called them 3 times and got 3 different promo codes.. Thankfully the 3rd one worked..
Got to wait for it to turn up now

Is that card any good? As I only be using it to make overseas transactions from the US and EU.

Great card. You can use it online in the UK and get perfect conversions.

One benefit over most cards is you can use it in cash machines abroad and take cash out with no fee.

Cash accrues interest from day one but is minimal when paid off within a few days of it occurring.

No charge for using it in a shop etc.

Thanks, might check it out.

The zelda face plate is due out next Friday. Will grab one on release I think.

Yes I may do too. My wife has spent so much time playing my 3DS and Animal Crossing since last week, she's just gone and got her own n3DS (with pink stencil coverplate so we don't get them mixed up)!

If anyone sees any cheap offers on Bravely Default, let me know!

Did anyone else do the game trade-in deal, pay full price for new 3DS then go back within a week to be refunded the trade-in price.

I bought the new 3DS XL last week paid £179.99 and was told (which I already knew) that if I trade-in my original 3DS XL within 7 days they'd refund me £70 making the new console £109.99. Went in today to do this and they offered me £46 cash or £70 on a gift card, how in the world is that making the new console £109.99 if I took the gift card!

I told them to shove it, I ain't giving them a perfectly working, still boxed 3DS XL for £46.

Why not print the offer off from their site and get them to give you the cash refund like they are supposed to?

Yes I would print the offer off. The person you saw only offered the normal price not promo price.

My game knew about the offer and I didn't have any issues. They refunded me my 55 (standard 3ds) to the card I paid for the n3DS with no issues.

So they refunded you 55 cash or game credit?

I did the offer with them on launch night got the 3ds xl for £180 (which I had pre ordered) & the next day traded in my 3ds xl for £85 in store credit as cex were offering £83 game matched it and put another £2 on top.

Cheers all

Cheers guys, I knew I was right about the offer but the manager was determined to only give me £46 cash. They had the offer on paper and tried to tell me the word trade-in meant I had to have a gift card if I wanted £70, they would not accept I could go back within 7 days to get the trade-in amount refunded to my debit card.

I'm gonna give their customer support a call tomorrow and see if they can give the store a slap in the right direction.

My experience with GAME and most other retailers is it's about the staff you get.
Could be the top store manager or this manager has misread or interpreted the offer, that said all the ones I spoke to at my GAME were very clear about the trade in deal. It's only on for about another week so be quick.

The bit the in the T&Cs you may struggle with is it says the cash trade in price may vary, so it may be the manager here is trying to use that to his advantage to boost stats?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I wonder how many other people they've screwed out of the offer. I have until Friday to sort it because the offer runs out 7 days after you purchase. Hopefully customer services will phone them and tell them what the real offer is.

The other thing is they may have genuinely misinterpreted it. When you read the T&Cs its not very well written.
I mean
"Offer is valid 13/02/15 until 26/02/15. In-store offer only. Get The New 3DS for £79.99 when you trade-in an original 3DSXL, for £94.99 when you trade-in an original 3DS, for £104.99 when you trade-in a 2DS and the trade in value is deducted from the selling price of The New 3DS."

As you've already bought the n3DS, it clearly states get it for £94.99 when you trade in the old one, so in that sense they should be giving you a refund when you give them the old one.
This is what my store did; a refund to the tune of £55.

I also got Monster Hunter at the same time for £30 offer price, as actually that's not a bad deal for a physical copy :)

Never had any problems in my local Game store (Ipswich) always been treated very fair, in fact last Thursday night Friday morning the manager told me to check the cex store price as they were offering more than Game & they would beat the price for the 3ds XL trade in.

Cheers all
