Paid for clinical trials

I'm not a big fan of taking medication (only do if I really have to) so wouldn't take part of any of these. I also hate needles :p

My cousin did a lot of medical trials for money in his twenties and thirties - he collapsed last month and has been in a near coma with little brain function.

He didnt have a particularly healthy lifestyle (drank and smoke too) but for someone of 44 to end up like he has, i wouldnt write off the medical trials he did.

I do the odd study at university. I received £70 for having an fMRI and an EEG done while I gambled, that was easy money.

I got £50 at uni for some vascular ultrasound study, they invited me back for the second phase to earn £250 if I would have an arterial line inserted (v painful!) which I politley declined.

Just saw one where you have to take an opiate for two monitored nights (twice), pays over £1k.

Interesting....

Bingo....

Get paid to get high. I'd be down.

My friend did a trial and got paid 5k, it was for some skin cream lol. Lasted like 2 months early morning walks to the place but very worth it.

Depends on what drug they're testing.

I did two in one year back when I was at Uni and got £3k for them. Was a great way to earn money at the time. I made an informed decision based on what I knew about the trial and realised that even if it went wrong, it wouldn't have adverse impact to me....

.....that was until the guy next to me fainted. Then I wanted to get out of the bed I was on, and run far far away. It was also boring as hell, especially for residential.

Looking back, I'd do it again if I had to, again, depending on the trial
