** THE TRUE MEANING TO A SAVAGE DEAL!! **

Can't decide whether to upgrade from 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1333Mhz :(

EPIC TROLLING!

:D

You spelt Warrenty wrong. ;)

I am thinking intel are transitioning to DDR4 for mainstream CPU's in august with Skylake....

Skylake will support DDR3 and DDR4 to start with... (so will be chipset dependant not CPU).

EPIC TROLLING!

I'm not trolling, I'm deadly serious. From the limited research I've done, it appears that the difference between 1600mhz ram and 2000+ is not worth the extra money, it's under 2-3 FPS, so why should I upgrade?

8GB seems plenty at the moment for gaming. Please convince me otherwise :)

Here is some rather in depth theory > CLICK ME and HERE (CLICK ME) is a Linux Tech Tips video discussing it.

But when OcUK is selling 2400MHz for less than competitors selling 1600MHz then it makes perfect sense to buy the better memory.

Also anyone using onboard GPU or APU, 2400MHz can give like upto 50% performance boost say over 1600MHz. :)

Because they look sweet and they would probably only cost you a few quid after selling your current ram.

Looks like a good buy, I agree with what you are saying about 8GB vs 16GB performance. Not much in it. That's down to whether you need the extra memory or not.

At this price I'd say it's worth it. Once everything shifts to ddr4 these may be worth a fair bit.

Edit:

Purchased :)

Combination of speed / CL / price got me

DDR3 will work with any DDR3 board. The only difference will be the speed it runs at. It obviously won't run at 2400 as the board won't support those speeds, but even so, it'll still work!

Any chance of the Savage Blacks on deal next month?

My Ballistic sport 1600mhz wont run on my Asrock at 1600mhz it will only work at 1333mhz as it seems the Am1 chips seem to have a little trouble with 1600Mhz ram
Then again it might be just this Ballistic sport Ram it don't like then again t didn't like my Kingston Hyperx grey either.

Nope you got best deal other week, as new buy is now more expensive on those unfortunately.

Savage - would like the matching blacks for my red & black build but can't get them this month :(

Let me speak to Kingston, they have never offered us black variation as they push Fury and Beast for the black themed stuff. Will ask but I guess if it exist then they don't want to push it.

I thought you had the black ones but I was looking at the Fury! If you can get them great, if not, no problem! My OCD doesn't want mis-matching RAM ;)
