Hi guys this is my predicament. I need cards now haha. I've had SLI before and thought it was good and optimized well, however the 295X2 looks ace and for the same price is the SLI it got me thinking.

Would love peoples input before i make an order :D

My current system:
Intel i5 3570K @ 4.8Ghz (Also tried with stock settings)
Asus Sabertooth Z77
8gb Corsair 1600Mhz RAM
Samsung 850GB Pro
OCZ 12500Watt PSU
ASUS ROG Swift 1440P 144HZ Monitor

Unless it's the 980 I wouldn't bother with the 970 sli at that resolution as I had problems with stuttering in certain games. 295x2 all the way if money is an issue. If not ditch the 970 and go 980 SLI.

Look below at this benchmark comparison 970 vs 780TI (http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1355?vs=1072)

Reason I have included this is you will see that the 780TI in most senario's faster than the 970 which brings me on to the second benchmark comparison.

295 vs 780TI SLI (http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1187?vs=1073)
As you can see the 295 beats the 780TI's or is bang on the money in most benchmarks therefore I would imagine they are someway ahead of the 970s in SLI Configuration.

Anandtech doesn't have 970's in SLI hence me including a comparison to the closest thing.

£600 is my absolute limit without selling my 1440p monitor which would defeat the purchase of the high end card im chasing :D

Looks to be the 295x2 then :)

Hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.

But I'm sure roughly 2 weeks ago the 295 XFX was reduced to sub £500 to shift some stock!

Looks like i missed out on a great deal :(

I had the 290 in crossfire and it was just heating out all the time, couldn't tame them beasts and they where the MSI models :(

I know the 295x2 is super cool, alternatively the 970SLI which is cool enough too

Buying it through a company so only going to cost £500 (after the Minus VAT)

So its no brainer to go for the 295x2 at that price! Possibly sell/trade the monitor for the new ACER Free sync as and when there realeased!

this is the best idea all round.

Welcome to the club, this is what you can look forward to.

If its not 2x 980s, then i wouldn't bother, as the 970s have a VRram issue, and Xfire has really gone down the pan as of late, lots of complaining about it.

Urgh look at that <3 Thanks for the recommendation! Sorry which fans have you upgraded the radiator to please?

I put four of these on there for improved cooling because i have dual 295x2's, so it was needed. I control them via a fan controller on the front of my pc. With one 295x2 i found the stock fan plenty and it was also silent, however it does make sense to put a second fan on there if you can. :)

If you wish to let the 295x2 manage the fan speeds, then you should get two of these as they will work with the 295x2 3 pin connector. (don't forget a 3 pin fan splitter) The Industrials pulls too much power to work without a fan controller. So consider this before you buy!

Ahhhh brilliant so see how I get on with stock 295x2 fan, alternatively in the future order the corsair ones but I need a fan controller? Any recommendations please?

Any 3 pin fan controller will do, just pick one that matches and works with your case.

Worth undervolting the 295x2 as well when you get it, just makes it run cooler and quieter than it already does. Start off with -0.050v and see how you go. :)
