Just got my Das keyboard 4 and the damn thing slides all over the table on the left side.

The right side grips fine but I'm guessing it's because it's slightly elevated on the left so the rubber at the front left corner doesn't grip. Although it must be very slight as I don't notice any travel pressing down on the corners.

Here's a video showing what I'm describing:

Did they really mess up something so basic?

That is terrible. This Filco I'm typing on is built like a tank.

There's the irony though, I still quite like this keyboard as I just wanted a simple but well made board with basic media controls. I'll try some rubber feet on the ruler which should fix the slide and help to raise the top side as it feels too low.

Failing that, back it goes.

Cant see your video. So not 100 % sure what you mean.

I've just bought the DAS4, Mine doesn't slide around.

Make sure the ruler is properly fitted between the two rear rubber feet. Otherwise it will not sit level and will slide around.

I was dubious on spending that sort of money on a keyboard, But it was the only decent keyboard I could find with a dedicated sleep button. As keyboards go...I love it :)

Tried checking the ruler was properly seated, tried turning it 180 degrees, tried placing it on different parts of the desk and all no joy.

I did find a review complaining about the same problem on a competitors website so I'm not alone, I suppose it's possible the issue is only for a small number but I can't see an obvious cause, like I said there's no play if I push down on any corners so it doesn't feel like the front left is elevated at all.

Dust or grease on the rubber feet ? Try an alcohol wipe to clean them.
Failing that...as above a mat underneath.

email DAS see what they say.

On my gaming mat, it's fine. The left side is easier to move than the right, but it's never moved during gaming or typing for me.

Just tried it on my desk without the mat, the desk is glass and it moved around easier than I'd like it to. The ruler really needs rubber feet on it. I'd be tempted to drill out two small indents and superglue some rubber feet into these indents if I was using a slippery desk.

Just get a large mat, makes it nice and comfy for the wrists then too :)

Considering it, not sure I like the idea of having to spend another £20 when the keyboard was already more than I wanted to spend (I couldn't take the K90 sticking keys any more though) and those mats all seem to be tiny or as big as my whole desk, I guess I could trim a side but I don't find that appealing.

I've ordered some rubber domes, on the bright side this will elevate the top slightly which resolves the issue and it should make the keyboard a little more comfortable as it's very low compared to most others I've used.

Received my DAS4, left side of the keyboard slides with ease, whilst the right side requires more force to move. Kind of annoying, will most probably buy one those big mousemats for it.

Well that was fun, just got a mail back from Das keyboard and they suggested I take the top left and bottom right corners and give the keyboard a twist.

My initial reaction was "is this a joke?" but after giving it a little try... it worked.

What do you mean by this?

Edit: I applied pressure to the top left and bottom right corners and now it doesn't slide around my desk!

I'm guessing it's down to the casing being metal, some of them are going slightly out of shape which causes one side to slide as the front rubber foot can only grip if it's completely flat.

Considering it took almost no pressure to fix I'm surprised they didn't take care of this doing QA but I'm glad there was an easy solution as the keyboard has worked out nicely otherwise.

For anyone else trying this make sure you don't use too much force as you'll just cause the other side to slide.
