I've added another notch to VTT - if it fails, I'll take the old 8GB out!

I dont understand the pricing..im thinking of getting 2 of the 16G kits and saving myself another 10 quid?
 
Well my GPU has finally given up the ghost. I get nothing!! Just what I needed!

It would seem that Windows updates failed to apply correctly and system restore couldn't, well.....restore. At least I know but **** me is it annoying!

Issues with installing Windows indicated the error could be RAM related - using the Kingston Savage so removed and used my Patriot and it installed no problem. Memtest will test the Kingston while I'm out!

Well my 8 sticks arrived an hour ago. Now sitting in the RIVE @ 2400 using just XMP! CPU back at stock for the moment. Bargain :-)

My sandy won't do 2400, will only post at 2133, I think the memory controller on the chip is the limiting factor. Not too bothered, still good ram although I can't tighten the timings, have to stick with the XMP profile, again I believe it is down to the memory controller.
 
So, spent another hour playing around. What I didn't first notice was that at 2400 cpuz measured 32gb but windows only 16. Hmm, reseat sticks and still no joy. Switched to XMP profile #2 which is 2133 and 32gb reported. I appreciate I may be pushing my luck with 8 sticks but believe the benefits are there over 4x16. Anyway, Sandra lite benchmark:

With my previous 8x4 Corsair Vengeance 1600 was about 32gb/s IIRC
