Are DDR4 motherboards worth waiting?

Hello,

I am thinking of building a gaming pc, budget will be 1500+ pounds as I want it to last for at least a decade. Now I have seen some DDR4 memory motherboards around, and I was wondering if I should go for them or wait until they are cheaper, or just get a DDR3 mobo. Is there huge difference between DDR3 and DDR4?

What are the main uses for the system?

Future proofing is very hard to do as no one really knows what going to happen in the future.

You not realistically going to be able to future proof for 5 years if you want to game at good quality, let alone 10.

However building a system with a strong CPU now will allow you to keep up in the future by just upgrading the graphics.

PCs do not last a decade.
If they did I would still have an AMD 64.

Spend £800 on the tower and enjoy a strong performing gaming rig, then in 3 years buy a new graphics card.
In 5 years buy a new rig.

Or do what I do and upgrade in small chunks: An SSD here, graphics card there etc.
