2015 Academy Awards Thread?

Thought that we could do with this thread to discuss tonights proceedings! Who's going to stay up to watch it?

I know it's stupid and will probably make me angry, but hopefully the right people win!

(Still angry about Gyllenhaals snub)

Yep, JG's snub did annoy me as his performance was superb, as was Riz Ahmed who imo should have been up for best supporting, and it sounds like Jennifer Aniston may have been unfairly snubbed for Cake though that could be a lie.

I haven't forgiven the Oscars for Titanic so nothing surprises me with them any more.

I'd like to see Theory win best picture, Benedict C for best actor, RP actress and RL for director.

Bookies have birdman as fav for best picture but I can't see Boyhood losing. My personal fav was the Grand Budapest Hotel.

I think GBH or Boyhood deserved Best Film more than Birdman, though I loved all three.

Eddie Redmayne getting best actor was the surest bet I think anyone could ever have placed and thoroughly deserved.

Although I've not seen GBH, Birdman or Boyhood, I'm glad American Sniper didn't win it. What an utterly awful film.

Birdman is good, definitely worth a watch for its style. I'm wondering this morning.. Who's more annoyed.. Richard Linklater for spending 12yrs making a film and not winning squat, or Roger Deakins for being nominated 12 times and still not winning
