So i recently built a second PC, went from, a 680 to a 970, and i've been playing a few games maxed graphics LOCKED< at 60fps on a 120hz monitor, and the screen tearing on some of these games is monsterous, games like Dishonoured, Crysis, Ethan Carter, Borderlands 2 the tearing is so rampant, its not just a distinct line on either 120hz or 60hz, it makes the whole screen stutter tear sometimes, and it always happens roughly in the same areas in each games.
Vsync fixes the issue, but really makes input lag a big problem in most games. And it also means capping my fps.
If i play at 120hz the tearing is significantly reduced and it doesnt judder the whole screen, but again it shouldnt be that tempermental just because of a framerate, happens on all my monitors regardless. I havent got my other PC built to test if it happens on that.
Is there anything external that might cause excessive tearing, i have no overclocks what so ever on anything, i7 4790k, GTX 970, ,16GB RAM, Asus Motherboard.
I dont ever recall games tearing this much, i know i've been on 120hz for a while but some of these screen tearing levels are actually unholy, i cant even play ethan carter without it stuttering from tearing and stutter because of the inept engine the game uses.
Please, Any advice would be so good right now!
