Hello! About 3 years ago I purchased a system which was built for me but I chose all the parts. I wasn't too confident in leaping into the build so paid more to have someone else put it together for peace of mind. The company have offered an upgrade scheme but it's just too much money for what I (hope) I can do myself. I am looking to upgrade the graphics card and probably bump up the ram to 16GB. Some help really on the graphics card would be great - Ideally want to get the best bang for my buck so to speak.

Current build -

Power Supply Corsair 750W TX V2
Processor Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz
Overclocking None
Processor Cooler Stock Manufacturer Heatsink and fan
RAM 8GB Corsair DDR3 XMS3 1600MHz/PC12800
Motherboard ASUS P8P67 REV3.0
Graphics card ATI RADEON HD 6970 2GB!

I'm thinking of jumping ship from AMD but I'm lost on if the new graphics card will require a new PSU (I think probably not) but want to be sure. I don't really have a limit on the budget but want to be realistic in my purchase. I think £350 would really be reasonable but I'm up for cheaper or more expensive within reason. My 6970 was great when I first got it, but now I can find my self suffering on even medium settings. I play PC and console so spending a fortune on the graphics card seems a bit crazy if I'm not 100% dedicated to just PC. Any help would be fantastic! Sorry for the rambling. If you feel anything else needs an upgrade, let me know :)

Hi

Do you have an SSD?

I think if you dont have an SSD get one and a new GFX card, overclock that CPU to 4.5Ghz (add a cooler) your PSU is fine:)

All I can see you need to do is crank the CPUs speed up and a GFX switch. (board may need a BIOS update to see the latest gen cards).

Okay, as I say, this will be my first time actually doing any stuff to the PC myself so abit of a noob in that sence.

If all you do is browse the internet, watch Youtube and play games then you dont even need to upgrade the RAM to 16GB, 8Gb is what I still spec and suggest for a gaming PC.

Ah okay, that saves me buying something I don't need thank you :)

As Stulid has said, there is not much wrong with your current system apart from the lack of an SSD.
Once you install that, take a deep breath and enjoy!
You GPU is 2GB, still very usable unless you play new titles at max.
Treat yourself to a nice new keyboard or a sound upgrade.
