UKIP 1st 100 days Documentary Channel 4 documentary

It is entirely relevant. They went out of their way to be offended and so did a person who freeze frames a clown collection. A pathetic smear and desperation to board the offended bus.

At no point did they go out of their way to be offended. You're just embarrassing yourself.

But, carry on obfuscating.

This is all a bit silly.

I would think that public displays of Golliwog are exactly the sort of thing to appeal to UKIP voters anyway. That it is anathema to UKIP opposers matters little.

It appears the only person offended here is yourself. It's been pointed out multiple times how the object will be viewed (no one has said they're actually offended by it, just how stupid it is for someone supposedly in PR to have it on display when doing a piece like this) yet you boarded the offended bus, put it into 6th gear and set course straight for Looney Town.

And that is exactly why UKIP will never get more than 3-4 seats.

You think a majority of Tory voters would be offended by Golliwogs?

UKIP may get more than 3 or 4 seats. In fact, I'm pretty convinced they will, though perhaps not this time around. The reason for them not getting more has little to do with cutting their voter base with by employing idiot politicians or flying the flag for general intolerance and parochial thinking. There's a wealth of voters out there who lap up this garbage.

Good god the Guardianistas are out in full force today

Your going out of your way to find offence reminds me of a story Christopher Hitchens told:

You freeze framing her clown collection and making it sound sinister is the same as you desperate to become offended or worse, offended on the behalf of others. You'll crave to be offended by something or other and you don't mind if you take it out of context. It's transparent and petty.

I think you are really trying hard not to understand what estebanrey is saying here, which is obvious by the way you keep telling him he has taken offence.

He isn't taking offence, at least I haven't seen a single post of his where he has explicitly or otherwise implied that he is offended. He is simply saying that the UKIP press officer is an idiot, precisely because she has put herself in a position where people who would like to take offence can do so easily, all with ammunition that she supplied herself.

I don't read anything more or anything less from estebanrey's posts other than this. Bottom line UKIP press officer in how to be an idiot non shocker...........

No worse than anyone else here, everyone will have a level of bias especially those posting in thread on politics. Take for example Mr Jack and MrMoonX who are more extreme in their bias then i am to the right and even yourself who are an extreme apologist for Labours mishandling of the economy (Which i will always find frankly bizarre)

I am more critical at the moment of the coalition than of Labour because the coalition are currently in power and we're currently suffering from the results of their ineptitude. If Miliband takes over in May I can assure you I'll be regularly critical of the Labour government as I was prior to 2010 although not, admittedly that often of their economic policies prior to the crash. In common with many other observers I did not see the true failure of Thatcherite economic policies in London and in the city until after the crash of 2008. In fact, in 2010, I welcomed a coalition of the Tories and the Lib Dems as the most desirable of the plausible outcomes; I was wrong - I'm sorry.

Your clumsy attempts at shaming me into silence can be saved for someone that would fall for such a hackneyed ruse. Screen capping a picture of a golliwog and saying it was 'missed' is textbook going out of your way to be offended. What was 'missed' exactly anyway? She was supposed to be pulled up about a toy in her own living room?

If you are freeze framing a video to take offence at something out of context then it is you with the problem. Someone taking offence at that is the one I'd cross the street to avoid, not the press woman who seemed affable.

I sat through 2 years of smears going to and fro during the Scottish referendum and this out of context and desperation to find dirt made me roll my eyes.

Is it? How does screen capping = being offended exactly?

The funny thing is, you cannot tell someone else that they are offended by something, only they know how they feel about it. Yet, despite me clarifying a number of times that I'm not offended by it (only surprised at her stupidity), you still continue to insist that I am.

If I were a journalist and was interviewing the Press Officer for UKIP, I would ask about them. As you've clearly implied repeatedly, they are a 'bit of harmless fun' so they shouldn't be hard to defend. Your vitriol to me even bringing it up shows me you know there are some issues around them; the phrase 'he doth protest too much' springs to mind.

We have one woman saying how she has a problem with people with 'negroid features' whilst the person listening is horrified at what she is hearing. However that same person owns and displays toys which are a grotesque caricature of 'negroid features' herself. If you can't see a journalist angle there fine, let's just agree to disagree.

So wait, you aren't offended but are pointing it out for others to take offence? Like some offence enabler?

It's a really cheap point to try and score with as the woman came across well considering the job she had was basically herding cats. I'm not even a UKIP supporter or voter for them but a low blow should be called out.

Once again missing the point.

You seem unable to admit it was a very stupid thing to do from a political & strategic perspective.
