I recently purchased a Nexus 7 but it didn't come with a USB cable. I've charged it with my S4 wall charger but it's taking 5 hours+.

Can anyone link me to the correct plug/cable I need to buy so it charges faster?

Im pretty sure that the N7 comes with a 5V/2A plug so any 5V/2A plug will charge it same as the boxed. Is the s4 charger just 1Amp? I once found a charger in my house that was 700mA.

The Samsung adapter I have here is 0.7amps, slow as treacle compared to the one which came with my N5.

But the cable cannot be rated for amps, that doesn't make sense.

Get a PortaPow cable from Amazon and it will charge at full speed. However, you also need a minimum of a 2A charger for it to charge in a decent time.

But the cable is not rated for amps, please stop saying that.

Why are you upset?

I don't know the details, you may be correct that the cable themselves are not rated for amps, but different Micro USB to USB cables provide different amounts of current to the device.
