Hi, I am looking for the best performance memory for my build. Hitting that sweet spot where I am getting maximum performance for the money.
Here is my build:

cpu
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
cpu cooler
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
motherboard
ASRock Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
ram
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
storage
Sandisk Extreme Pro 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
GPU
GALAX GeForce GTX 970 4GB Infinity Black Edition Video Card
case
Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU
Super Flower Leadex Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

If you have any suggestions for upgrading ANY of the parts which could be better than what I have selected other than the ram I would like to hear you opinion. The only things already purchased is the GPU and PSU as I got them both on offer from overclockers over the last few weeks. So everything else is subject to change, if you can convince me another part is better.

I looked at 2133 corsair vengeance pro, but it requires 1.65V, how dodgy is it to run this on haswell and will I see much more performance increase over the g.skill I have selected. Will it be worth any stability trade off.
Im looking to spend £100 or less on 8gb Ram. If you think i need more please say.
My build is aimed at running csgo at over 300fps consistently on low settings 4:3 960 pixels high cant remember the width of that res.
But I would also like to play all the latest titles with ultra graphics at decent fps, like 60 and above at 1080p. I have 144hz monitor, so hitting 144 frames in big titles would be nice, In particular FIFA 15 and any other big/ demanding titles.
Thanks for your input!

fair enough, i didnt see you removed it, I actually got the link wrong the first time so had to edit it to get the right link lol. Sorry about that. if it looked like I was trying to circumvent your edit. il type out the build now.
Sorry and thanks for the info

Running 1.65v memory on the 4790k (and past cpu's) will fine.

cheers for the confirmation.

Do you have any idea which is better memory between:
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory. Cas 8
and the
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory. Cas 8

Personally id go for this ram.

Pretty decent timings and faster at 2400mhz. Or save a few quid and low profile so you wont have any cooler fitment issues.

Using the team group ram myself and cant fault it.

Thanks for the help, both look like great ram and at great prices. I find ram very confusing, is hard to figure out performance, i.e. what is more important mhz or timings etc, like is 2133 cas 8 better than 2400 cas 9 or 10 etc.
The trident definately looks good, hopefully shouldnt have clearance issues

ok guys i am narrowed down to three, what should i go for?
the corsair has good timings but will that not matter vs 2400mhz on the tridentx?
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory. Cas 8 red
g.skill tridentx 2400 cas 10
or the
g.skill tridentx 2400 cas 9?

and will they all work smoothly with the build i put in the original post?

The Gskill CAS9 will cost a bomb and can you still get it? The CAS10 offers the best bang per buck out of those.

Double sided Samsung ICs;)

again thanks a lot for the input guys, im leaning towards the trident just got to decide 2400 cas 9 or 10, but cas 9 is a lot more expensive like u say and hard to find.
I am going to throw one more out there, what about this:

vs the 2400mhz tridentx.
the timings arent great, but 2666mhz, never sure what is most important

does it also come with some crazy ram fan lol?

im not sure about what the headspace will be like with my cooler, but i think on tridentx u can remove the top part of the heat fin, without too much loss of cooling.

The C10 2400Mhz is fairly cheap and fast enough, I doubt you'd see a massive difference in day-to-day usage and gaming anyway, so just be done and get the C10 2400Mhz as there is quite a price difference as you said

Yes get the 2400MHz CAS10 me and setter recommended;)

The ASRock Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard is blue and black is it not? also I could do with the said blue ripjaws , can't find the 16GB 2400Mhz ripjaws any were

Probably stopped being made as DDR4 comes to the fore, ask customer services if they can source some.
