I need an ATX board for X99.

Not sure whether to go all out on the X99-Deluxe or go with the UD4.

It'll be a combined photo editing and gaming machine.

RMA benefits of Gigabyte aside, which one would you plump for? Is the extra £110 or so worth it for the ASUS board?

I went for the Asus as I liked the look of it and it has got 3*3 Wi-Fi AC and might use the PCI-e SSD card. I also have an Asus Z97 and like the BIOS interface. If you don’t need the extras then the Asus X99-S or Pro might be a better option. I have had a few minor issues with USB ports turning on/off but it’s mostly been very stable.

I just bought myself an X99-S. Slightly more premium than the UD4 (sure, I hear Asus RMA isn't as good as Gigabyte, but I'm hoping it's ok!).

I don't think the Deluxe is worth it unless you need/really want the WiFi and bluetooth.

That said it all for me straight away. I'll be clicking buy on the one without wifi.

I've been reading about them for a while but it takes someone else to say "don't bother" sometimes to make you listen!

Yes just go with the Asus x99-S the Deluxe just not worth it. The Gigabyte X99 boards have to many Bios issues that never seem to get fixed.
