Got a pair of these coming after a demo. Here's some impressions.

These remind me a bit of the Sennheiser Mometum but a bit smoother with a more powerful low end and better soundstage. The bass was really fun! Kind of like the V Moda M100. It has a bit of a mid bass hump which always is nice.

They are very very easy going which I love! Really liquid sounding. I think these had a typical Sennheiser Mid range. I really liked them enough to grab a set. The lush and smooth headphones seem to be dying out and it's great to see it on the XL.

These things are really comfortable and built like a tank.

Review to come!

Nice, I've wondered what the XL would be like.

Is it a real over-ears set or a big on-ears (but they'll fit if you squash them a bit) headphone?

my Urbanite XL arrived today. I really am liking them. They are pretty veiled though! really veiled they are probably the most liquid sounding headphone I've heard, they literally have no texture at all. Bass is very thick, thicker than the Solo2 and M100 which is pretty crazy.

Mids are behind the massive bass but even though they are not upfront they sound really nice and warm. I can't call the mids recessed because the treble is rolled off and the bass dominates the who sound. They are not harsh at all and I can listen to them for hours despite the lack of texture.

This is one of those cases that you don't give a **** about the technical ability, in fact I've started to not give a **** about technical ability for a while now! Musicality > Technical capability.

Technically it's somewhere around the Momentum.

sounds a bit too extreme for my liking - while I do love smooth, I also like a little sizzle in the highs as long as it doesn't become sibilant.

I can see why they did it but audiophiles will certainly want something with better resolution. These are really great fun though! Give them a go.

Thats what I found with the Momentum (on-ear) they are great fun but flawed at the same time - I do like the trick they are doing with the bass but it comes at too much of an expense to the mid-range sadly.
