Best 970 for the money

Your not getting 3.5gb of Vram, your getting 4gb that is broken up into a 3.5gb section and a 0.5 section, with the smaller section operating differently. I'm all for taking the **** out of NVidia for this debacle but not in threads where people are asking for advice, it helps no-one and makes you look like a bit of a mammary gland.

It can have issues which are more prominent in SLI mode or when running resolutions over 1440p, but in most cases, especially at 1080p its still a very good card.

And yes, the KFA2 cards seem to have been well received, you shouldn't be disappointed by it.

*edit* It depends, if cash is no issue and you just want a new toy then sure, upgrade, but from a cash to performance increase point of view you will notice very little difference from a 780 to a 970.

I was running a 780 up until a few months ago then got myself a 290 ( Over £100 less than the 780 cost me )...games for me ( BF4 ) run much more smoothly and look better too .

which 980 for the money then? :P

Basically I have a ichill 780 getting repaired or replaced from OCUK to manufacturer but can take 28 days and I need my computer so gonna have to buy another card :(

so its not worth replacing my gtx 780?
I'm thinking the same thing, so far some say the 970 is better than the 780 at 1080p, i'm not sure though, although i have had my 780 for nearly 2 years, it's difficult to keep the GTX780 below 80C with the reference cooler even in a welll ventilated and fan cooled case and even with the side panel off my Corsair 700D case, throttling is unwanted and i don't like GPU boost at all but something we have to live with unless you want to use third party bypass techniques to stop throttling but heat is an issue with my 780 always. 970 has its benefits over the 780 and that price quoted is fair and quite decent considering i paid just under £600 for the GTX780 in may 2013.

Gibbo has previously advised this cooler is one of the best - take that as you will ;)

It's certainly the highest quality next to the NVIDIA reference cooler as all metal construction and no cheap plastic, plus it has a backplate to which many do not such as MSI and EVGA. :)

Could I have requested a refund from the RMA? kinda sad that I have to wait upto 28 days to be able te use my computer :S Id rather just buy another card
