As the title suggests I have a 550w power supply - Zalman ZM550-XG to be exact - and I'm planning on upgrading to a new graphics card, possibly the 780ti EVGA.

Now I've heard that it's a pretty power hungry card and I've seen all these high wattage PSU numbers thrown about, but I'm wondering if I'll have any issues running it on my current power supply.

I'm also planning to upgrade to a 4690k/4790k in the near future.

Will I be able to run it or should I opt for a less power hungry card, and if so, any suggestions?

Hi, from Evga itself,

REQUIREMENTS
600 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 42 Amp on the +12 volt rail.****

Is this your PSU?

Zalman ZM 550W XG GoldRock '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-064-ZA&groupid=2913&catid=2968&subcat=0

If it is i think you'll be fine.

*unable to get to Zalman's website. All i get is a blank screen!

That is indeed the PSU I have. I also couldn't get to the official Zalman website, but the PSU does have 45A on the +12V Rail so meets that requirement.
Just didn't want to buy the card and then be unable to use it is all, and really would rather not get a new power supply as this is only a month or so old as it is.

If you buying new and want to stick with Nvidia , look at the 970 range will use less power and has more vram. As far as i know all the 780 range is End of line
