Hi guys quick question.

I was wondering if anyone here had any advice on shipping a pc?

It's a pc I built for my brother but I live all the way up north and my brother is down south so I said no problem I can just sent it via courier.

But I was wondering what to do about insuring the item, I was thinking of sending it using parcel2go with UPS (Seem to be one of more reliable couriers) and apparently insurance will be 25 quid.

Seems about right but I was wondering will it cover the item should anything happen and there won't be some loop hole where they'd avoid paying out or something.

Just looking for any input.

I'd send the GPU, cooler & HDD's separately as I doubt it will cover parts individually.

Leave the motherboard, PSU and CPU in the case and ship that in it's box with foam cutouts to support the board, you'll need to declare what the item is as they might not accept it.

hmmm that does throw a spanner in the works.

I can't really do that because I built it for him, that was the idea. He wanted me to sort him out a decent budget gaming pc so I said no problem i'll do it for free and install everything for him.

I mean I spose he could fit GPU himself that one is obvious enough. The box is very secure and I'd definitely put bubble wrap etc all around the case.

Wrap it in warning tape, that will make the driver think twice about kicking it out the van.

Yeh, also put a sticker saying "Fragile", and "This Way Up", that'll ensure safe handling in the warehouse and by the driver.
