Can I force PowerPoint to display smaller than screen resolution?

I have a projector and screen setup in the classroom where I work. The projector cannot physically be moved any further back from the screen than it already is and the zoom is set to display as small as it can.

The projected image though is still overlapping the actual screen which I am projecting onto.

I don't want to have to go through all of my presentations and move the content around, so is there any way to make PowerPoint actually display smaller, so there is almost like an artificial margin placed around the outside of the projection?

You'd want the projector closer to the screen to display a smaller image, so that's the obvious thing to try first.

D'oh! Of course I would - I don't know why I didn't think of that!!!

The problem though is that it's bolted to the ceiling to not possible to move!

Tried changing the resolution in PowerPoint? I'm on 2007 but it's on the Slide Show tab for me.

I have, but no matter what resolution I chose it always wants to fill the screen.

You need to get the projector moved closer to the screen. Or have a bigger screen.

Poor planning by whoever installed it.

Hmm. Perhaps have a look in the control panel for your display drivers (be it Intel, AMD, nVidia) to see if there's a scaling option?
