*** Official Battlefield: Hardline Thread ***

They aren't charging for stats. Way to overreact.

They are just trying to flog this idea of the gun bench. I'll bet money that you will still be able to use battlelog on BF Hardline in the way you were able to on previous games.

Having said that, i'll probably not be buying until I see what the content is like in the expansion packs. Previous packs have included some very good maps, with lots of extra weapons (BF3 close quarters, BF3 End Game, BF4 Second Assault, BF Naval Strike) but Hardline is still a bit unknown for me.

The primary selling point for the "gun bench" is going to be the ability to create your own gun camos / colour combos. Hence this:

Not a big deal from my point of view, camo's xp boosts for premium members is not really significant.

They do have it listed as a Premium feature though.
And being able to change you gun colours about....whoppie di doo.
This is the bit that gets me,
Competitive play through Premium-only tournaments will also be included
So to play with yoru friend in a competitive way you HAVE to have premium now.

They mentioned the "ability to track your kills per gun" as a + point of the gun bench, and everybody has leapt to the conclusion that stats have gone and the only way to see this is going to be by buying premium.

This is absolutely not what is going to happen. Some marketing eejit has had to sit down and think about why the cosmetic *** you get with premium is a good idea and noticed the gun bench screenshots given to him showed the kills with the gun so he's listed that as a feature.

I'll eat my hat if the stats available on battlelog during beta are gone on release. This has been caused by EA's marketing department having no clue about the game (which is inevitable when you're as big as they are) but then not checking of the content of the press release with the developers properly.

premium is going to be your ticket to all the DLC, with a bit of cosmetic stuff and some battlepacks as a sweetener. Put the fire out in your pants people.

I can't see stats listed as a premium feature anywhere link anybody?

The bit people are getting angst about is on here:

http://www.battlefield.com/hardline/news/battlefield-hardline-premium

Gun Bench – Provides players with the ability to visually customize their weapons and track their kills per weapon.

However, nowhere does it say Stats are going to be a premium only feature. Look at the list at the bottom

t doesn’t stop there. More perks are lined up for you if you decide to become a Battlefield Hardline Premium member. How does this sound:
Two weeks early access to all expansion packs
12 Gold Battlepacks
New personalization options including gun camos, ammo skins, and more Battlefield Hardline Premium exclusive in-game items
Access to double-XP, in-game missions, and more Battlefield Hardline Premium exclusive events
Priority position in server queues

Nowhere does it state in that Access to battlelog, or detailed multiplayer stats or anything of the sort.

Not a big deal from my point of view, camo's xp boosts for premium members is not really significant.

exactly. This is nothing different to the usual premium features, none of which are actually needed. Just cosmetic nice to have stuff.

If the dlc packs are single player only I might not get premium, but if they are multi player maps as well I will be getting it. I think ea are past the stage where they want to put up a pay wall Btw.

You're guessing just as much as everybody else, you even said it in one post that you'll bet it's the same as....

They've opened this up themselves, I hate these stupid idiot companies who seemingly can't put together a coherent piece of media material for their game, instea dof building hype, they build stupid BS questions, that shouldn't even arise.

I mean do they have the 12 year old marketing YTS kid writing this stuff? It's hard.

I'm sorry but 'track their kills per weapon' is open to an awful lot of interpretation. Maybe it will tell you who exactly you killed (like a list) or something, or maybe it will be just you have 200 kills with this weapon, who knows, because they are incapable of actually explaining any of this ****.

I'll be keeping an eye on what you all think of this when it arrives though I doubt I'll get it early on, if at all.

Installing the new BF4 patch now gonna give it a whirl.

People are getting upset about stats but not this

no they aren't. All of that was in BF4 premium.

priority in server queues is a joke as so many people had BF4 premium, it meant most times everybody had priority, and we all had it over nobody ! as a result you just queued like normal. Most times you'd use the server browser to find a server with space anyway.

The double XP events are meh, especially when battle packs can give double XP boosters. And in the game missions are just what you need to complete to get access to your cosmetic Premium only stuff.

If the dlc packs are single player only I might not get premium, but if they are multi player maps as well I will be getting it. I think ea are past the stage where they want to put up a pay wall Btw.

The expansion packs will have all the multiplayer stuff in they usually have AND single player missions if you read the blurb.

http://www.battlefield.com/hardline/news/battlefield-hardline-premium

On top of this, Battlefield Hardline Premium members will be able to enjoy four digital expansion packs featuring all-new multiplayer maps, modes, vehicles and in-game content. Remember: you’ll get a 2-week head start* with these expansions if you go Premium. Here’s what’s coming up:

Yup. Their marketing people do appear to be about 12.

Ok cheers I am going to splurge on this seeing as I loved the beta that much and BF4 has been ace lately.

I'll wait and see what the first one is like.

The BF4 premium pass was good value for money overall, when you consider how much content they put in them. But I'm not going to stump up before I know what it will be like.

The majority of premium features have been there since BF3, to be fair they need to seperate Premium from just buying the map packs to make it more appealing.

The stats thing is poorly written, I interpreted it as normal users won't have access to stats full stop.

Does not equate to this:
So to play with your friend in a competitive way you HAVE to have premium now.

It means there will be premium competitions and, oddly enough, if you want to play in them with friends you'll all need premium.

nah

Its all the usual BF3/4 Premium stuff, with some Premium only ladders and the ability to create your own camos.
