We all know OCUK don't take kindly to any suggestion of a conspiracy. Mention any alternative explanation for an important event and you will face howls of derision, tin foil hat gifs, and be put firmly in your place by the <ahem> superior intellects of GD.

So here is an extensive list of false flag events. Each has links to back them up....before anybody immediately dismisses the website they're posted on.

Very interesting read.

So lets have a chat about this. Do those who believe the alternative explanations to events (9/11, 7/7, etc) have a point worth considering before posting the rolleyes? Is there a cut-off point to the level of conspiracy in an event before it becomes dismissed as tin foil hat territory? Do you think any of the stuff going on in the world today will be revealed as a false flag in years to come?

Oh, and if any of you spoil-sports can debunk any of the events on the list, that would be cool! I'm not taking it as gospel by any means :)

(for the record, I consider myself open to a lot of alternative theories, and would probably class my self as "Tin Foil Lite")

No they are not needed. They are exercises of imagination which I personally find boring/predictable (the CIA did it, for the oil). Their main problem is that the hypothesis is built before or in the context of ignoring the evidence which means that conclusion can be, well, anything. Yawn..

They seem to miss iranian coup
The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup, was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the United Kingdom (under the name 'Operation Boot') and the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project)

From when iran wanted to share their own oil reserves 50/50 with the UK after getting a crap deal for many years (crap deals were common between western countries and middle eastern ones)
UK refused the 50/50 share.
iran said fine then LOL we'll just nationalise the oil industry ok thanks bye!

Britain got butthurt and arranged a coup to get a share of another countries resources back.

We would never goto war for oil amirite?

Imagine if we had no footage of planes hitting the towers, it must have been cruise missles right? Thats what they were saying hit the pentagon..... despite parts of a plane being all over the place.

CT people are basically the worst kind of non conformist.

It's all pretty obvious the western regime does all sorts of things to affect world order, all sorts of dodgy underhanded stuff happens that we never see as its not reported.

If you don't think this happens then.........wow............. lol

It makes me laugh when people have this "our government never lies" attitude. Just have a good read of Edward Snowden's stuff and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

No people with alternatives to 9/11 such as it being an inside job are generally fantasists or retards.

There are interesting conspiracies out there but the typical conspiracy theorist internet site doesn't tend to focus on them but rather proposes ridiculous alternatives to rather well documented events.

Conspiracy Theorists thrive on mental masturbation. They like nothing more than thinking they have stumbled upon some esoteric knowledge that everyone else seems to have missed and in their mind they become the arbiters of truth. This always involves denouncing the media and government ( Hey, they're controlled by the Illuminati right ? ) as well as any evidence, no matter how concrete, that contradicts their view. Many of them even deliberately fabricated lies in order to try and back up their nonsense.

CT people need sex with ladies more any other group on earth. :D

I agree to a certain extent. But therein lies the problem. There is some genuinely good discussion out there, but the majority of people are put off by the idiots claiming holographic planes fired missiles into the towers so the lizard people could take over. So all the "sensible" talk is completely tainted with the bat**** crazy rantings.

There's a world of difference between 'Governments do dodgy things that aren't talked about' and 'The USA killed thousands of it's own citizens with fake plane crashes to generate support for an oil war in Afghanistan' and other such nonsense.

Rather the opposite IMO, the 'official' 9/11 story has more holes than Swiss cheese.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 men armed with boxcutters directed by a man on dialysis in a cave fortress halfway around the world using a satellite phone and a laptop directed the most sophisticated penetration of the most heavily-defended airspace in the world, overpowering the passengers and the military combat-trained pilots on 4 commercial aircraft before flying those planes wildly off course for over an hour without being molested by a single fighter interceptor.

Honestly...... You believe this?

Three pilots managed to knock down 3 buildings with 2 planes in New York, while in Washington a pilot who couldn’t handle a single engine Cessna was able to fly a 757 in an 8,000 foot descending 270 degree corskscrew turn to come exactly level with the ground, hitting the Pentagon in the budget analyst office where DoD staffers were working on the mystery of the 2.3 trillion dollars that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had announced “missing” from the Pentagon’s coffers in a press conference the day before, on September 10, 2001.
The mind boggles at that part.

This is the usual way people try to stifle the sort of discussion they do not like.

There are fantasists and retards who have their theories on what happened, but that doesn't necessarily mean any questioning of the official story as per the US government is only done by people who are fundamentally broken.

Governments, and the US government especially, have been known to get up to all sorts of awful things. I have no idea what happened, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they had some hand in what happened, because they just are that shady.

I have no idea what happened.

Well that solves that then.

The rest of us are quite certain that an Al Quaeda financed group, most of which came from Saudi Arabia, hijacked 4 US internal flights, crashing two of them into the Twin Towers in New York, a third into the Pentagon, and a fourth into a field, en route to the White House. In total, they slaughtered nearly 3 thousand innocent civilians.

So there you go. Now you know what happened. :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_fallacy

The genetic fallacy, also known as fallacy of origins, fallacy of virtue,[1] is a fallacy of irrelevance where a conclusion is suggested based solely on something or someone's origin rather than its current meaning or context. This overlooks any difference to be found in the present situation, typically transferring the positive or negative esteem from the earlier context.

Ooh thanks, another logical fallacy, I wasn't aware that those sort of arguments had a name like that.

But yeah, it seems to be the default response around here. If you dare question official stories you get tarred with the "delusional fantasist" brush.
