Netanyahu: Iran a threat to the world.

/Snip. The note itself, even if authentic doesn't support this unless you try to do all sorts of linguistic gymnastics. Even when you read the note itself (as its reproduced on several sites) it is noticeable that the translation is somewhat erratic, And it simply doesn't say Yeshua at all. That is just some extrapolation some have made to suit their beliefs.

I agree.

It is a weak argument for the proof of Jesus.

“Will all believe in the Messiah right away? No, in the beginning some of us will believe in him and some not. It will be easier for non-religious people to follow the Messiah than for Orthodox people.

There is nothing on this earth or anywhere else that will convince me to follow some nutjob :)

“When he comes, the Messiah will rescue Jerusalem from foreign religions that want to rule the city,” Kaduri once said. “They will not succeed for they will fight against one another.”

Foreign religions? So all of them? :) IF god was real I think he would look at all religions and think "You lot have really screwed the pooch".

I have no doubt that Kaduri claimed to have dreams of the Messiah...it would be in keeping with Sephardic belief after all...I simply do not agree with Carl Gallups idea that the note (if authentic) is some secret code naming Jesus Christ. I have read the note (as it is on the Internet) and it is a platitude if anything, it certainly doesn't name anyone..perhaps Moses, but not in the context of Moses being the Messiah.

Other mystic rabbis have also said that Sharon's death will herald the Jewish messiah, but again that is more a political thing due to Sharon's record in office and how Haredi Jews conduct politics in Israel than anything else.

I would point out that the Haredim believe other Jews are foreign religions also, so again it's not unreasonable to assume a political rather than prophetic nature to the note, even if it's authentic.

Haha, again I agree.

Though maybe some people are out to only please God and not use God for their own means.

Personally I do not believe humanity needs religion it holds us back, segregates people, homophobic to name a few. Organised Religion is a disease.

Too Simplistic. If not for the stabilising effect Christianity had on post Roman Europe, in all likelihood we would still be hundreds of years behind where we are today, similarly with the Golden Age of Islam.

Of course, like humanity itself, each religion reflects the cultures, ethics and practices of the people at the time, most,y regional but it also enables change and reflects the idea that knowledge is valuable...sometimes this gets lost in the doctrine and power struggles of the people themselves, but it's too easy to look at religion and say "we would be better off without it".

I am a simple kind of guy :P

It may have had its place but in my opinion it does not NOW... :) But if we agreed on everything the world would be boring.

Thank you. I learnt a fair bit reading that.

Kind of loathe posting a youtube video, though this has always stuck with me, the genuine respect shown here, or it appears to me to be totally genuine and the words spoken.
After reading your post and reading a bit up on Heredim are these Haredi Jews?

Yes they are Haredim. There are a whole range of Haredim (and Hasidic) and their beliefs can be quite different. Some are zionists, others are not...some, like the Neturei Karta believe Israel is blasphemy until The Messiah arrives.

Religion has its place, in this country for example the Church gives the majority of support to homeless people and runs all kinds of local community charities and food banks and so on...as with all things it's never perfect, but it does have its place, particularly in areas of destitution and extreme poverty.

You've stated your opinion on organised religion a number of times, and I can respect that you don't like it and thats fine, but you should be tolerant of what others believe. There's not much call to be rude about it.

People are rude about others taste in politics, art, music, sport, the list is endless. Why should religion get a free pass ? I'm critical about religion and make no apologies for it. Sometimes my polemic nature offends, again I make no apologies. Free speech shouldn't by impinged upon just because some people might take offense. Lots of people say things which I find unpalatable but I defend their right to say them.

My post was aimed that jmc007 who kept going on about prophesy. Plus his general insult to peoples intelligence :) Are you going to call him out on that?

You are right I have been vocal on my dislike for organised religion I am sorry you do not like my opinion but I would hardly call my reply rude maybe more a little disrespectful? possibly. :).

On Topic

The guy is still a lunatic.
