GTX 970 4K Gaming Edition Hell!

FYI the error message is....

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 347.52 stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I've very rarely seen that on Nvidia cards but when I have it's been because the solder contacts have started to fail on the GPU core.

I would send it back.

That error I have seen often.... When overclocking. If it is doing it at stock and you said you are getting red snow on boot, that is a faulty card. No point trying to sort it and just send it back for a replacement.

The title is misleading

I thought it meant NVIDIA was revealing a "4k GAMING EDITION" 970 to make up for the 3.5 debacle.

I got excited for a moment

Broken graphics card... red snow on boot cannot be a driver issue.

And lol @ driver issues and wanting to move to AMD.

AMD drivers are not good

Nvidia drivers are better

No real issues... the error message you show is the same one given when you overclock the card too far and it crashes. With your card at stock speed... there's obviously something wrong.

You have a faulty card, get a working one and you'll love it

maybe you should ask Gregster about his AMD card....

Thx for all the replies returned system by rma. I'll See what OC say, hopefully it will get replaced.

lol what absolute balls. I've moved from AMD to Nvidia and I can honestly say I've not had a problem with either set of drivers and I've been with AMD for the past 10 years or so before Christmas when I jumped ship.

My 290 and 290X were great cards and the only reason I moved is because I wanted to try the other side out and since moving to the other side I do enjoy the Nvidia Gameworks they have going on.

Crossfire/SLI profiles on the other hand is a different ball game.
