Right we've got a thread for great covers, lets have another for the true abominations.


Lets start with Mike Flower's Pops, Wonderwall. It's an easy listening version of Wonderwall that made the top 10. Why??


Another of my personal hates is Ronan Keeting's version of Father & Son. I just can't work out why you'd want to listen to this when you can listen to the original. The production is completely unoriginal an Keeting is perhaps the dullest singer known to man (with possible exception of some of the other members of Westlife/Boyzone who are basically indistinguishable).
 
Cryptopsy cover of Oh My ******* God by SYL is atrocious. Can't link it for obvious reasons.

Also Atrocious

Awful but expected.
 
One Way or Another - One Direction.

Anyone who is brain dead enough to want to hear that cover, can search for it themselves. I'd rather eat own my vomit than search and post a Youtube link to it.

I have a bad feeling it charted higher then the original. It was only released a week or two after and they were both in the top 10 at the same time.

EDIT: I've just checked Wifipedia, and both versions hit number 2 in the charts.

Wonderwall. I remember Noel saying that everyone thought he'd nicked the song from some 60s group when the cover came out. He even started to believe it himself when he saw the video.
 
I was going to post Under The Bridge but that's already been posted, and **** me I had never heard Take That murdering Smells Like Teen Spirit before and I hope never to again. Here's one that hasn't been posted...
