Hello all,
I'm looking to hire a family car in San Francisco at the end of the month for 8 days. I've looked through my work's corporate site and I can get a car through Hertz for £210, on the Hertz site it's £380 including LDW. Does this seem like the right sort of price? What other places should I be looking at? do I need LDW?
Any help appreciated here.
Thanks.

You need full insurance. Booking through a US website will typically quote you exclusive of insurance which is a very bad idea - you'll end up buying it whe you get there at massively inflated cost.

Buy it through the UK website of the rental firm you wish to use and it will include LDW and SLI with zero excess and nothing more to pay.

It should be clear whether the £210 quote you have includes LDW.

Thanks Fox, I'm pretty sure the £210 excludes LDW, but I'm wondering if I ordered the LDW at the counter it would work out cheaper than the price quoted from Hertz

Worth double checking through your corporate website what is included, for example when I worked for Marriott in US I had LDW and SLI thrown in for practically nothing with Enterprise. I would 100% recommend that you do get insurance though, so ordering through a UK site would be the next best option as that normally includes everything you need.

It probably won't, its hugely expensive.

You can't beat the excellent deals we get as uk citizens.
