Any 970's that are cherry picked?

Hey guys I'm looking at getting a 970 and would be looking to overclock it. I was just wondering if any of them are cherry picked?

I wish MSI would release a damn Lightning version already!

I'm not positive but after having a look through them I'd say the only one with a chance of having binned chips is the KFA2 Hall of Fame edition.

Edit: Gibbo knows ^

You mean what cards that have been speed binned?

Gibbo could tell you, the only one I know is the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Classified Kingpin Edition and maybe the regular Classified non Kingpin.

Yeah that's what I mean. Didn't know the terminology though haha.

I saw that 980 but I'm not willing to stretch to it really.

That's that then! :p Are there anymore 970s coming up anytime soon that you know of? Lightning, Classified etc?

Nope, flagship speed binned are typically only ever done on flagship SKU, so the 980 and right now only the 980 HOF, 980 KingPin are binned GPU's.

That makes sense, thanks for the info! :) I think I might go for the Gigabyte G1. I'd love to just reach 1500 on the core stable (not even thinking about those 1600 chips!).

Gigabyte G1, KFA2 Infin8, OcUK ref 970, MSI 970 gaming all stand a great chance of such speeds, I have personally not achieved less than 1550MHz on any of the above in actual realtime GPU-Z sensor report on the above cards.

Gigabyte G1 and KFA2 Infin8 gave me the best results of circa 1600MHz for benchmarking.

I like the look of that Infin8! Great price as well. Do they all use Samsung memory?
