If money was no object,what would you get.

Rules=1 body and 3 lens and one flash.
Has to be able to photograph everything from sports to macro.

I'm not up with the top end stuff and was curious as to what some of you lot would get.

What would the body and other stuff cost ?

Probably a D750 or D800 for the camera body,as I have a D600 already.

Lens wise I would get a 20MM/F1.8,24MM PC-E Nikkor and the 80-400MM AF-S VR G. I already have a compact 28-70MM AF-D lens which I can use for walkabouts.

- Canon 100-400 L IS MKII : £2000

For portrait work it'd be a Pentax MF 645Z, 90mm macro, 80 - 160mm and a 28 - 45mm.

For practical purposes i'd moved from Canon to a Nikon D810, 24/70, 70/200 and a macro prime.

I'd get 1dx

3 lenses only? That's tough as I'd have to compromise
1 macro, 1 super tele and 1 wide (I'd have to miss out the middle!)

180mm macro L (although current 100mm is probably a better choice with 3 lens limit)
Canon 800mm f5.6 is L (or 600 mm f4 is) - never used something this length so not sure what would be best!
Canon 11-24mm f4 L(widest lens I could find considering 1dx body)

Adding a 4th lens would probably be 24-70

Wouldn't be able to use any primes other than macro

And yep that completely misses out what most people use most!

I would get a D810. 24mm F1.4. 35mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4.
I expect that list to change in the next year or two though..

Me too, but can't hardly do macro, or sports (like football) or astro and a few others.

Landscape, street, portraits and some indoor sports.

That's an impossible question unless you're asking for a specific purpose.

Wildlife? Big heavy lenses and big camera
Travel? Lightweight camera and lenses
Indoors? Multiple primes

If you insist then -

D7200
Tokina 11-16
Nikon 17-55
Sigma 120-300 OS
And a set of extension tubes

Aside from the D7200 that's the kit I already have (have a D7000 instead).

it's light enough for most travel but also long enough for some decent wildlife shooting if I take that lens. A decent all round setup for what I shoot.

Unfortunately I'd have to sell the other lenses I have that fit other niches (such as proper macro lens, prime lenses and Nikon 70-300 VR).

For travel (no wildlife) I'd probably go for:
Sony A7s
24-70 f/4
16-35 f/4
35 f/1.4

Wildlife
Nikon D810
24-70
200-400
800 f/5.6

At a quick guesstimate.

Although I might drop the 24mm and have a 200mm/2.0 or 200/1.8 with Canon.

If I want wide angle, I'll just take portrait framed shots with the 35mm and stitch.

Leica MP, 21/1.4, 35/1.4, 50/0.95 or Mamiya 7II, 43mm, 80mm, 150mm

Digital:
Nikon D810, 24/1.4, 35/1.4, 85/1.4

Flash:
A Profoto B1 kit

I don't really shoot sports/wildlife/macro, I'm not too brushed up in that area but that new Canon 200-400 with a built in teleconverter would be on the list for sure.

With the 3 lens limit for everything that's what I'd go with (24mm to 560mm covered).

Sadly the 3 lens limit stops me from the 100mm macro and the Sigma Art 50mm F1.4
