That's quite a chunk faster. For those on a budget (~£1000), 980 SLI or single Titan-X?
The only other variables that confused the situation is VRAM and SLI drivers / compatibility. Ultimately this wouldn't be an issue on a single Titan X
This...
I'm really interested to see how this pans out. I've been considering 980 SLI for a while so, if the TX comes in between 700-800 then I think that's what i'll splurge on, otherwise it'll be 980 SLI (fingers crossed for a price reduction on 980s once TX is released).

To put it in perspective, I disabled SLI and stuck on firestrike extreme and scored 7400 at 1500/8000. that's within 6-7% of the stock Titan X scores (will probably extend to 20-30% when Oc'd). In SLI enabled games (which lets be honest is the majority, I've rarely had issues with SLI...crossfire on the other hand) it's going to stomp all over a single Titan X even when OC'd whilst costing the same or less.
If you want outright performance at that price point it has to be 980 SLI but if you want a single card then Titan X. I think the original Titan was closer to 50% faster stock for stock vs a 680.
I'm going to try and hold off for the 980 Ti which is more than likely going to come.
what Res do you game at me old fruit?
Shame there hasn't been any real news or rumour on these. I suspect we are in for a wait.Best thing about those T-X figures is that it gives us a glimpse into possible 980Ti performance![]()
Greg I think your maths is off, 153.6 is only around 32% faster than 116.2

So the 980 is around 75% the speed of the Titan X if those results are legit, and pair of 980 in SLI would be 50% faster than the Titan X if SLI scale perfectly.
It's amazing that we can so easily have our mind messed with by the illustration of graphs and figures![]()

Actually your maths is wrong too. Although less wrong than Greg's
.
You'd use the formula:
(X-Y)/((X+Y)/2)) * 100
So it's like 28% difference in value but your method is OK for a quick and dirty calculation.
