I am thinking about going down the contact lenses route, i have worn glasses for watching tv and driving for year's but always hated wearing them while out and about but i think i really need to as its like putting on binoculars.

Is there any contact lense user's here? just after some opinions on which type you use, which ones you prefer etc. Am i right in thinking once i get my prescription i can order them online?

I would also like to try changing my eye colour which is natruly brown to green, can anybody recommend a brand that can do this and look natural?

Thank's :)

first time buying them I would just buy them from the optician. Test them see how they go. I have worn them for the last 10 years, I wear dailies and used them 5 times a week. I get them from www.daysoft.com and cost me about £25 for 2 month supply. I hate my glasses and contact lenses really are no bother once you get used to them, they do make your eyes tired though after extensive use so I would advise getting some eye drops also.

Don't hesitate, get down to the optician for a trial.

Never tried the eye colour change ones though so can't really help with that, infact do they even still do that?

I use them occasionally. But they annoy the hell out of me. Perhaps if I were to use them more often I'd get used to them. I find they make my eyes tired and are an effort to get in and out.

But once in, then for a few hours the are great. They are worth a try as everyone's experience differs.

I tried to use them a few years ago and I could not get them out at all. The problem is I had the idea of something touching my eye and putting my fingers in there was nigh on impossible.

Wear glasses when inside working at pc, contacts whenever I go out.

I use monthly disposable. I can wear them all month put them in and never take them out/sleep in them but I just prefer to put them in when I want to use them.

Never looked back. Cause me no issues at all.

They take practice, like anything does. Once you are used to it, its so simple.

Two words.

Acuvue Oasys.

I've tried loads of lenses - Single use, monthly disposable, extended wear.... nothing comes close to these bad boys.

Most of the "chain" opticians will give you a free trial pair of lenses to see how you go. Try them out then decide on if they are for you. Most cost effective way is not signing up to their schemes though - Get the prescription then order online :)

Also re coloured lenses - I on occasion use these, but I wouldn't recommend for every day use really. They can be a little more annoying in the eye.

They'll be weird at first, but I've used the thin Specsavers monthly disposables for about 5 years now and usually forget they are even there after putting them in. Occasionally they will play up or be a faff to put in, but not often.

Just be aware you may suffer from drier eyes with them, especially if you work in an office.
